Such a cute review! Haha, still love it so many years later.. unfortunately, I was never able to get an original & now they're extinct, but I'll keep hoping to find one somewhere. The new version looks ~horrible, & is even MORE expensive(!) for LESS coverage.. who knows what the inventor was thinking! (smh) How's yours holding up tho? ♡
5 years ago I contacted the company to let them know that the plastic was starting to turn yellow. They ended up sending me a new one in exchange. The one they sent me was clear in the front but had fabric in the back. Maybe I am not the only customer that had this issue with the plastic, and that could be one of the reasons they decided to change the style.
@@jlly16 - I haven't had any clear vinyl type plastic material for any number of years to kno the average quality, but I'd figure it doesn't have a long life span in general, especially under a lot of use, & most items that use it are made to be regularly replaced, it seems. Tho it should definitely have been more durable / used higher quality material at that price point! But nah, the inventor claims the design (mostly just the shape, really) was actually changed due to "MANY" ppl seriously ~wanting LESS coverage LOL & "backpack style" straps, thus the "open front" (no more protection from horizontal rain & winds) style that's out now & he pretends this one never existed- "version 1.0" is the 2016 model & "2.0" comes out next March.. tsk. Personally as someone with disabilities etc I was thinking this could be a great splash shield for doing aqua exercises in a busy public pool because my ears & face are too sensitive to get pool water on or in them but swimming (even only from the neck down lol) is just so wonderfully therapeutic for the rest of my body, I've been taking the risk anyway & suffering thru the constant splashing, heh. (at the local Y- it's just one of those places that's always busy when you get there no matter what time it is, & at a very short 4'9" I fit best in the shallow end of the pool ie 3'6" lol which is also the busiest) Well, fingers crossed one shows up for sale on some secondhand site! ♡
