Electricity generation in Ontario is mostly reliable nuclear - but - is it worthy of the ongoing large capital investment? What are the alternatives? This is really part one of a longer discussion.
Douggy would have to admit he made a mistake on stopping renewable energy projects started by by McGuinty/Wynn, not sure he wants to do that. There is a glimmer of hope in that after removing EV charging from OnRoute plazas he went and rebuilt them.
hi bruce.......i thought in canada most of the electricity is coming from renewables like big hydroelectric installations cause of the mountians and rivers like we got in austria.nuclear is definetly not the final answere...........thanx for the info.
According to google, floating off shore wind in the Great Lakes could produce 415 GW of capacity. Ontario's current peak is a bit over 20. That's a vast untapped renewable resource. But what if climate change impacts your wind and solar production? Nuclear is independent of weather. The money is spent in Ontario on good jobs. We can export nuclear expertise to other provinces or countries.
