For anyone wondering, he replied to a comment quite recently on his twitter asking why he does not make videos anymore. Quote - "I’d achieved my objective of covering all the basic material to give a good grounding in the subject." - Dr Bob Eagle

To all of those who enjoyed Dr. physicsA videos. I may suggest that everyone publish his comments and then end with "Big Thank you from "sate your your country". I want to show him how much he inspired all these people from different culture different languages different background but they agree to common thing, which is we loved physics and loved how he explain very difficult topics with simple and easy methodology. " . We need to show him how much we appreciate his efforts and how much he is really great person. "Dr Physics Big Thank you from Saudi Arabia

These lectures of yours and all other videos should be saved and kept safe for all those who are curious about foundations of universe. You haven' uploaded in more that 1 year and 5 months..... Plz come back DrPhysicsA. When you come back, can you do some advanced physics topics because you already covered a lot of A level stuff. Do topics like General and Special Relativity, Quantum Mechanics/Physics, Particle Physics, and Statistical Mechanics. Go into the calculus of those subjects instead of just touching a little on the subject. Tell us about the lagrangian. You can also teach some math like, chaos theory, calculus, differential equations, and much more. I know it's math, but you can teach math needed for physics. Just come back because a lot of us are eager to learn Physics from an amazing teacher. I hope you aren't dead.

Thank you for the physics lectures which are hugely beneficial for me. I need one clarification. Just before discussing big bang, you showed a reaction that involves fusion of a deuterium with a tritium producing helium 4 , a neutron and 17.6 mev of energy. Subsequently, you discussed fusion of two tritium atoms producing helium 4 , two protons and 18.4 mev of energy. My question is 1. Are both these reactions occurring simultaneously in the sun? If not why not? And if yes, which one is more predominant and why.

Hi Dr Physics, I know that for this kind of videos a good camera quality is not needed, and that you probably don't want to spend a lot of money in a good camera, but I have to say that your videos lose a lot of quality because of your maximum resolution (240p). Sometimes it's hard to perceive everything you write easily, and when talking about advanced physics we students need to have a clear idea of what you're saying, and seeing a blurry image does not help. Nowadays you can find 720p cameras for less than 50€ (40 pounds), and that change from 240p to 720p (considered HD) would be radical in your video and content quality. It's just an idea, I think that with your way of explaining things and with a good video quality you could become one of the leading physics channels. If anyone likes this idea please press the like button so that he can see this, I think that for a small amount of money we could all be benefited. Thanks, David
@175griffin
@175griffin 8 лет назад
+david anton I don't think anyone owns a 240p camera these days. Theyre all at least 480p. I think the resolution is so low because the videos are so long. Lots of space costs lots of money for youtube, so compression is doing all the brlurification. I don't know the video file size limits for youtube, but I know you need to have several thousand subscribers to get more space. The compression is just cramming the whole video into the space available.

Great video, as always. No big new things for me, but it is nice to remind of the things te one is aware of. The very end of the video was almost poetic. Reminded me of other great physicians and promoters of science. I guess DrPhysicsA does an equally good job. Hats off. Thans for these videos. There are many people out there who think they understand, but they lack the capacity to share their knowledge in a way like you do. Man I would love to have a beer with you and talk for an evening... About anything... Disclaimer: I know that my mental model of you that I made up in my head is most likely wrong. But realizing that is good in itself. Cheers. Thanks again. Do not think about these sentences too much if they did not make any sense to you. Keep making these great videos.All the best, Erik. Also I write this on a slovak keyboard which does not have the apostrpophe sign and I am lazy to switch it to english (also due to the QWERTY/QWERTZ difference), so that is the reason why I use the "long form" in my writing. I am perfectly comfortable with the short too. Different topic, I drifted away... Again... Sorry.... Loneliness leads to insanity. I am a nice example. Is it sad? Partially... Just make the best out of it (you, not me), be normal, not jerks like I am. Take me as a warning... Do non end up like me, seriously. Watch, learn and be glad you can make an actual use of this FREE knowledge. This is simply great. And be thankful that you are privileged to have internet access and understand english. Peace. (Now I am sad, I do not know why, I want to cry)...

This lecture was SO wonderful and filled me with joy and awe in its literally immense and universal scope - I felt I was watching the mystery of the recipe of the universe unfolding - it is awe inspiring how simple diagrams and mathematics no more complicated than 2+2=4 can effectively explain the simple mechanism that leads to the distribution of matter in the universe. This mechanism is as deep and simple and profound as evolution, but unfortunately doesn't have the status, fame or name that it deserves. Surely many Nobel Prizes were won on the read to this knowledge. Stunning that humanity in the 20th century worked all of this out. I loved how you even had an emotional ending, talking about gold jewelry - such a beautiful and personal ending to a cosmic story spanning 13.6 billions years, that isn't even finished and will repeat in many more cycles. And I presume that the reason that Li is so rare in the Universe is the same reason that Be and B are rare, because they just get reconsumed into He - Carbon is a special threshhold above which the larger elements are "safer". Lithium seems to be "the wonder element of the 2010s", hoped to solve our energy crisis (ignoring the wonderful graphene for a moment!)- and it's great here to understand its place in the Cosmic Alphabet Soup Recipe. I studied Astrophysics and Particle Physics in the late 80s and knew most of this stuff in bits and pieces but this was a sheer delight to see the whole story appear. I love your approach as a physicist - very pragramatic and not concerned with the rigors of maths - and deeply grounded in the reality and empiricity of nature. I think you should have included near the end briefly how Mercury to Uranium appeared - are they really rapid neutron absorption in the shock of a supernova or are they fusion of two lighter elements - i.e. the opposite of fission?

This great summary of nuclear fusion is great work, however, the sketches imply that a star shrinks when it runs out of hydrogen in its core. We know that outer layers do the opposite - they expand. The core shrinks all right but what makes the surrounding layers expand? Is it the higher 'fusion pressure' in the core or subsequent fusion in the other layers?
