I got my pacer/defibrillator back in 1993 and before then there were some with plutonium powered ones being used. It's my understanding they were discontinued for several reasons. I was happy that they were discontinued because you have to report your every move to the government. My 1st one was battery powered and recharged every three months. The other 4 were replace every 10 to 12 years.

This was a very interesting topic to cover. I had no idea there were nuclear powered pacemakers. It's crazy to think that Plutonium 238 was the safest option out of other radioisotopes. Usually you put a funny joke at the end, but it was actually a bit wholesome this time.

What is wierd about Plutonium 238 being the safest option out of other radioisotopes? He didn't say it was the safest option of all. I would also prefer a radioactive peacemaker, rather than having to have s urgery every 15 years or so. Or would rather wirlessly charge myself lmao

You would be surprised nuclear batteries can actually the size of tiny microchips and the fact that you only need to send a small electric charge to a muscle to make it actuate or twitch just imagine the possibilities and applications for this technology and you don't even need to use plutonium you could use other radioactive materials like tritium betavoltaic nuklear batteries

1:18 This it's actually true punching someone in the chest can make a patient that it's having a abnormal heart rhythm to hopefully convert to a better rhythm. This is called the precordial thump, it can be used to convert the rhythm as I said before. It's used if you don't have a AED around (automatic external defibrilator). Most studies says that this doesn't help very much but it's better than nothing. It generates about 5-10 Joules of mechanical energy

a buddy of mine has one, he’s maybe 19-20. a fake* weed cartridge killed him for 30 seconds (i believe) but he was successfully resuscitated, and now has one for the rest of his life for the full story: this was back in 2019-2020. i didn’t live in the greatest of areas at the time so if you didn’t go to a dispensary then you didn’t really know what you were getting (i live in NW Ohio so going to Michigan was fairly common, but not mainstream yet) he was standing by his back door; a glass sliding door; and blacked out and fell straight through it, yes, through the glass. he already had some health issues and the fake cart just finally did it, as i said he flatlined for 30ish seconds on the way to the hospital but was resuscitated, ultimately he needed a pacemaker. probably not a plutonium based one showcased in the video, but it’s still insane to me regardless. he’s alive and well thank fuck, would’ve been an awful way to die, especially at such a young age. *: fake could range anywhere from Pre-FDA regulation on Vitamin E Extract (and any other leading chemicals that caused health problems) or a flat out home-made (or tampered with) cart. nobody is quite sure and i doubt anyone remembers at this point. these were in the days of non-tamper-proof boxes, so mind you there wasn’t a way to be sure, you just trusted the guy

(I Really think our best option for our Future, is Utilizing New Nuclear energy options) We should invest in modern advanced nuclear energy options. Small form reactors, LFTRs, Thorium Reactors, liquid reactors. Utilizing our advanced modern technology, engineering, material science. our greater understanding of safety measures and designs. More advanced computer technology, robotics, It will really allow any nation to be pretty much be energy independent. Less reliant on fossil fuels. They'll have efficient, stable electrical grids and the rest of the grid could experiment with alternative power sources, etc. We need to heal from the trauma of our past and see that it happened solely from Us not understanding what we were doing, not having advanced enough technology, material science, engineering, safety measures, understanding of how to go about everything, etc. This source of energy will greatly help the world improve towards the future and lowering emissions more than anything else could while having a very stable electrical grid system. Currently we have alternative energy options but the majority of our grid is powered off of fossil fuels and emission producing sources of energy. We will be so much better going forward commiting to modern advanced nuclear energy options. It baffles me. Even tho Society is struggling, We are yet to even attempt to implement a concept around: "The better off the lowest income people are doing; The better off the rest of our countries economy could be doing." -Think of it like a ecosystem in nature. The least important little things might seem meaningless and insignificant yet, if they crumbled away, the entire ecosystem would crumble. The last things remaining would be the top diverse predators that eat everything else.. until they eat each other.. leaving just a few top sharks in the ecosystem.. the whales would all be gone once the plankton crumble away, the sharks would eat the whales. Then once all that's left is sharks, the sharks would eat the sharks. *(Think of this but as a analogy for our economy and our modern day society..) If we instead decided to support the lowest people in the ecosystem, there would be a beneficial systematic dispersion towards other aspects of society benefiting. All because the lowest people would be flourishing. I say flourish but I really just mean, able to obtain the most basic essential living standards... Yet even that would Vastly improve our current state of our economy & society *Also imagine this analogy in our economy. The more help we invest in the lowest level people, the more it would trickle into every facet of our economy. If poor people can pay their rent & not go homeless: landlords would get $, businesses would get $, banks would get $, local small shops would get $, mortgages & bills could be paid, insurance companies would get $, Taxes would get $, So essentially that $ would go out & filter right back in to improve our Country while simultaneously improving our quality of Life. Every bit of the economy would somehow find a way to benefit off of this situation... I don't get why we haven't even Given it a chance?? If it doesn't help? Then by all means stop it and figure out what problems we could be facing might be one's that run way deeper than expected and that would take drastic changes to improve that situation... (I hope we TRY something soon, before things get any more unstable. The worst thing we could do is continue on doing exactly what we are currently doing. It might get to a point where overcoming our struggles could simply become a pipedream. I don't want it to get to that)
