@@GreatLightStudios RU-vid said I didn't change the "original source material" enough to add enough value to qualify for monetization. Which means they think the original source material is the image. It's not. This is a sound channel. The original source material, which I've created as an original work, is the soundscape. Not to mention all the imagery I use is licensed and/or paid for. So RU-vid doesn't think there is value there, but yet, continues to run ads on the videos anyway, keeping all ad revenue. And as RU-vid has no customer service channels or anyone you can call or talk to in order to reason with and explain, you get nowhere.
@@whitenoisejack That's incredibly frustrating. I have another background sound channel that was also denied monetization, however they allowed me to submit a video appeal where I explained how I made my content and why it was "original material" and they turned on monetization in the next couple of days. -- I'm not sure if you have tried that yet, but if not, try sending in an appeal. There should be a place to do that on your monetization page. This page deserves to be monetized.
I put this on with another device playing ocean sounds and I fall asleep imagining I'm bunking on an oil platform in the North Sea during a storm. Works like a charm.
This is incredibly unsettling for the first five minutes I listened, until I got used to it. But now, I don't know what's more unsettling; those first five minutes, or the fact that I seem to have gotten used to it.
Ever seen "Threads" (1984)? As a species, we are resilient and adaptable. But one day, these may become curses rather than assets. Let's hope that we never find ourselves begging for the mercy of extinction.
it is if you survive the initial chaos and build your own cabin, its actually better than before, because of the dramatic fall of population (sad but true) there will be more food for those who survived, more game, more fish, and more berries and veggies around, you never have to worry about money again, and no politicians or laws around to poke you in the eye with their bs. zero taxes, zero crime because theres nothing worth stealing. But watch out for influenza and other infections though.
@@CinnamonTroll246 just a short period of time xD...as profesor Legasov says to politburo in URSS about cherbonyl incident: there is some atoms that will last for almost 3.000.000 years OMFG!

@@div3345 Nothing funny. Knowing current situation in the world nuclear war is way closer than you think. There is nothing funny here, on the contrary, it makes you very worried. And another question is what is the current state of the Russian perimeter system.
That's the way the Blizzard of '78 sounded outside my apartment window for 3 solid days and nights - it was the most terrifying thing I have ever experienced.
This channel hit a million total views today, and nearly one million hours of watch time, in large part because of this video and all of your support. May the nuclear winter last forever.
Way to go. This is top of my list where sleep is concerned, and the "Nuclear" doesn't even come into it for me. --- Since wind, surf and rain are big in the sleep vids genre, may I suggest that somebody needs to do a "Windy Surf, with intermittent rain and distant thunder". Getting the mix perfect and keeping it light without the ominous Bass levels some like to put in, would nail it. --- anyway, keep it up!
“The loneliness. The winds howling and a empty destroyed land lays beyond it. A civilisation that once thrived in all it’s glory has now disappeared. I wonder how they all disappeared in a flash.” - Alien
"The years of the nuclear cold were difficult, you had to be on your guard always because the hardship wasn't the most frightening thing, it was the people you had to look out for. But as I see my grandchildren come of age, I feel a sense of optimism for the future."
Nuclear apocalypse/winter ambiences are a dime a dozen but this one really stands out mostly due to the color and soundscape. This one really works. It feels distinctly shortly after the "Judgment Day", not years and years after but not mere days after... feels less than 3 months after the Day The Bombs Went Off. It's starting to settle in for people that the old society is never coming back and this is not just a blip. There is no remnant government out there piecing things back together and coming for us with food, radio/TV, and a plan. It's sinking in for those in this valley, the lights aren't coming back on, help isn't coming. It's just us now. What we can carry and protect, that's your life from now on. The neighbors you never bothered to get to know, are beginning to realize they are in competition for what little food remains in town. Household items that have no function in this new context are starting to look different. Family photos of people you'll never see again, tickets to upcoming concerts that will never happen again, grocery coupons, the fridge and freezer, the washer and dryer, the shower, the stove, none of it functioning anymore, or ever again, yet continuing to exist, like a collection of bygone hieroglyphs and artifacts, mocking you, ready to hum right back on to business as usual if only someone would say the magic word. But it's all gone gone gone, for good, and now that the permanence of what has happened is computing in her mind, your wife is starting to get bored, and paranoid about dying at the hands of bloodthirsty bandits after your house and non-perishables. Thank god you have no kids yet. You know she is right... you need to start moving West, on your own terms, before you are forced out. I feel the resignation, the fear, the crumbling denial, the shame.
@@grolandstack8321 I am literally working on it. It's been my dream job since I was 6. It's a VERY cutthroat and unforgiving industry, especially toward people with chronic health issues like myself, and also they're all on strike right now because of ChatGPT. I'm still holding on to the ambition though. Thank you for the feedback, seriously !
Evidently, the soul-hollowing echo of oblivion and squandered civilization does a treat for nerve/sensory issues. I feel like that means something, but I'm not sure I want to know what it is.
Я вырос в таких краях, с детства ты мерзнешь в величественных руинах ушедшей советской эпохи, слышишь шум ветра и разбираешься в оттенках серого. Для вас это экзотика, а для меня это музыка моей души. Привет из России.
Greetings! There’s no reason for our two countries to be against each other. I’m a former US Marine. We are two children from the same divorced parents. We don’t have to fight. For we are brothers. We grow out of the same people, who survived the younger dryas . We have to convince our nations to think the same way. I admire the Russia spirit. Because it’s our own.
@jamesclark4523 Sir what you have said here is so amazing, and more heartfelt than the terrible things happening right now, i wish other countries thought as positive as you, a virtual hug to you both! 🫂 🫶🌎✊️
@J Slice right; so the way nuclear winter works is that the ash goes into the atmosphere from an atom bomb and the destroyed things that make up the ash, goes into the atmosphere, freezes and becomes super cold, then falls back down as snow and ash mixture
Was scrolling through the comments to see if anyone else thought of this game series or if it was just me. Glad to see I’m not the only one. That game series is amazing.
Awesome. Might wantt to make a version with a Geiger counter sound surging and the dropping off as waves of contaminated dust pass through on and/or are stirred up by the gusts wind, with the counts dropping off to a minimimum at times.
Soothing when you cancel out the crippling fear of constant death and anguish. No medicine. No grocery stores. No running water. No protections. Everyday is a 24/7 battle to survive until the next day. There’s no days off.
Wanderer, this is the world you have inherited. This is what is left of your empire of dreams, for it was only a dream, gentle and fragile, that you had control and power. The ashes salute you, and the dust pays you honors. The wind shall make you company in the desolation, but always remember that you are not alone, for we the deads are all around you.
I’m listening to this while on a walk all while pretending the world has ended and I’m the sole survivor; lowkey fun. Lol.

In the wake of a nuclear blast and the nuclear winter that would follow, that snowy frozen landscape could very well be some African inner village where there once was a scorching Sun shining upon it.
@monolithgeometry3221 The nuclear winter will be global, even if the bombs fall only upon the wealthy cities of Europa, North America, and northern Asia.
@@monolithgeometry3221 Wrong. If nuclear weapons are used, it will be taken on both sides as an opportunity to settle all scores. Every communist country will likely get hit, and there's a number of them in Africa.
Reminds me of that British film on nuclear holocaust, I think it is called "Threads," and it came out in the mid eighties. Absolutely terrifying film with images you will never forget.
Wow, what a wonderful scene. Seems like it´s not what I would have expected 50 - 60 years ago, yet now when I´m in my 70s I find it hard to sleep without rain, winds and distant storms. Well this was a great combo and it´s hard to find decent howling wind sounds too right. Thanks for the share
I listen to this while out raking leaves, preparing a meal for my family or on the toilet vigorously pushing out a number two. This has become the soundtrack of my life.
@@whitenoisejackit didn’t help me sleep I’m half deaf it sounds nice when I have my hearing aids on but when I take em off it sound’s completely different it sounds like hurricane winds
This mix is awesome ive been running down the lists of noises and this one just something else. Im a dnd nerd who is hosting a campaign called Darkness falls and its set in a nuclear winter, going to use this the entire session
Im a introvert…. So I’d enjoy this happening and god mysteriously let’s me survive, this is my favorite weather and as you can see it’s very calm🤷🏽♂️💯
That's how it sounded. I was cooped up in a cave in Ellesmere Island for 9 days with dwindling Food Supplies, in the biggest blizzard I ever went through. I made it obviously, buy sleeping through most of it, I have to keep an eye on polar bears at all times.
This reminds me of the Bitter cold & Dark days of late December into Jan. in Northern Wisconsin!!!!! I now live in Florida but miss those Eerie Days every now & then.
Simple, you look over that wide expanse of snow and desolation and you feel a sense of calm knowing that there's nothing and nobody. No bosses reminding you of the deadline, No Karen's making everyone's lives difficult, No junkies trying to rob you or shake you down for a dollar, No politicians trying to tax you, disarm you, or otherwise trying to bend you over for a dry one, No road raging maniacs on the highway, No cops barking up your ass for every little infraction, Nothing, Nada, Zip, Zero, Zilch. You're back to living how humanity was always meant to live. Taking stock of your food and planning how to get more food and clean water, Checking to make sure your shelter isn't gonna fall down in the next bout of strong wind Taking apart that rifle you found in someone's abandoned car to clean it and make sure it's good for tomorrow's hunt. And every moment in-between is yours to do with as you please. Rest and be lazy? Sure. Be proactive and work on a stronger, longer lasting shelter? Good idea. TL:DR, you feel calm because this soundscape gives you a glance of being free and Returning to Wild Nature whether you like it or not.
The pistols are for self defense The shotgun is for food The mosin is for the skinwalkers The sks is for the humans The ar is for the mercs The revolver is to turn off the game
Jesus. How fucking bleak is Montana?! Will I be able to tell the difference between a quiet evening and the End of Days? If I'm alone, is there any way to know for sure that I'm alive?
Loving this ambiance. Only thing missing is a Walker snarling a walking by every now and then. 🥃 Great job with this. Definitely helping me get through the work day.
It is Friday, August 20, at 10:42 a. m. It is 25 degrees Fahrenheit. The wind is from the east and the velocity is 32 mph gusting to 59. Precipitation is mainly in the form of ice crystals. The background radiation level varies from 700 to 900 rads. There is a smell of burnt metal and charred wood mingled with slight putrescence. Oxygen level is below 10%. There is finally peace on earth. You figure out the year….
Thank you for for having integrity and giving credit for the picture. It’s refreshing. So many just steal work in this community. Well done sounds and additions.
Well, unfortunately, RU-vid won't monetize my channel because I use others' pictures and acknowledge their work, even though they are all fully licensed and royalty free. And even though i design/record all the soundscapes myself. But RU-vid runs ads on my content and pockets the money! No problems there! :)
I like to set a mood for when I'm reading, and I picked this for 'The Road'. It made the experience so much more harrowing than it already was, and I genuinely had to turn it off for subsequent sessions because it royally fucked me up. 10/10, good wind noise!
It was a temporary pleasure being able to see big Tommy and the rest of the survivors, even though we knew what lays out in the desolate lands out there we still managed to have a drink and play cards, while we preparing for the night we heard a distanced cry for help.. Tommy told us not to pay attention because he said it was a demon trying to lure us away, we geared up and headed to north scouther to pick up the rest of the other supplies, the drive is always a cold one but today was different because the cold rigid air felt more cold then the rest.. Tommy just wanted to get the supplies and come back because he knows what's out there.
"Three billion human lives ended on August 27, 1997. The survivors of the nuclear fire called the war judgement day. They in turn lived to face a NEW nightmare. The war against the machines."
I don't know why I am drawn to scenes so bleak it never occurred to me that, none of us will survive such horrors. COVID was a soap opera compared to a post nuclear extinction event
