This is just the start, the amount of exposure NUFC will get over in 🇸🇦 will be just astonishing, potentially Newcastle branded mega stores, Newcastle brandied football training cities, and even Theme parks!
It’s obvious Sela weren’t brought on board just to have their name on the shirt. You’re right Eddie this is a very exciting time, not just for Newcastle United, but for the city. Amanda Staveley said when they came in that they would invest heavily in the club and the city. I think this is just the beginning.
@@thewomble1509 Here's hoping, I'd rather have that than the tranies indoctrinating our kids and this crazy over sexualization and being made to feel like 2nd class citizens in our own country as white males. I'm all for equality, but REAL EQUALITY
Eddie what the PIF ans Sela have planned for Newcastle is testiment to the people of Newcastle there passion for football in our city is in the top ten of the world and what better place in the UK to show this off to the world. Brilliant and informative video 👍👍👍👍👍
When I passed Anfields fan zone I instantly liked the concept wishing that the Toon had the same. Liverpool's doesn't look flash or expensive but an area for fans to enjoy as an extension to the stadium. One thing certain is the Saudis don't do things by half when it comes to hospitality. I can't wait.
I think it's a smart move to enter pif and take control of golf. Many billionaires and businessmen meet and conclude deals while playing golf. Many projects will be presented to businessmen by investing in the city of Newcastle and the club. I think there will be many opportunities in the near future.
If this project comes off Eddy and I see no reason why not.....this blue sky thinking from Sela would undoubtedly create a world class fan zone that would be the envy of other Premier league clubs.
If it looked like futuristic would be great. As long as it does not go too high for the stadium. Place a nice bar there and restaurant which could operate 7 days per week. Needs to be financially stable. Another one ed, bit off topic you could cover a video for leazes park northern lights trail from end of november to january for five weeks which is a 90 min trail in park and has food and drink celebrating 150 years since leazes park opened.
Glad everyone is happy, I genuinely am but it sounds horrific culturally. Sounds like a marketers dream though, all those screens telling us where to spend our money.
Hard to imagine how big it's all going to be. Such an endeavour as you describe, and I believe it will happen, would suggest there are no plans for the club to move away from SJP. But I wonder how this will affect stadium expansion
It’ll fill the whole of Strawberry Place. There’s definitely no plans to move. It’ll be interesting to see if it’s integrated with the Gallowgate expansion
The owners are long term investors and will build patiently, as they’ve stated many times. This video has hopefully reflected what their vision is and we should expect nothing less than a global stamp on our city that best showcases wider plans. Fans need to be patient and not wish for some half baked fanzone and Gallowgate expansion to be rushed through
Great stuff mate! Got to be a good thing for the city even better that it is going to be bigger than originally thought. Yes you are right about if the stadium expansion will be done at the same time as the fan zone. You would certainly think so. Saudi are really pushing in loads of sports not only the usual like F1 but also moto GP (motorbike version of F1) also they have their fingers in the Boxing pie even Bodybuilding all the top athletes train over there now.
Are you watching Mike Ashley?.... For years used as free advert for sports direct. The vision we have now is a million miles away from the last decade. Informative as always eddie
How can they own 5 and not be seen to be playing favourites which all Football fans no mater where in the world would point to. ‘Why they get Ronaldo and we get Modric…’
I should point out that the PIF are only in a position to lavish player money on the Saudi teams, not Newcastle. As the Saudi league integrates these new players into their teams and the league becomes more attractive to foreign players, it’ll all iron itself out 👍🏻
See pinned comment Martin, of course I’m right. 😃🤛🏻 You should note the however that the conjecture is the 3+ minute video NUFC made announcing Sela, who Sela are, what they do, their plans for global exposure and how NUFC will work in partnership with them on a a fanzone . If you’ve watched it, you will come to the obvious conclusion too. Great times 🤛🏻
The fan's zone sounds great but the extension to the stadium must take priority if they can develop both together it would be fantastic I expect a lot of investment from the Saudis as they don't play second fiddle to anyone so financially they could do it all in one go the planning issues will be the biggest obstacles
It’s very, very important to our owners and commercial investment for the club Shaun and they explain why in their video. We may have to wait a bit longer for expansion
This is essentially a Saudi Arabia tourist board channel. I understand being happy for your club to take their money. But actively pushing the sports washing agenda is an interesting choice
@@TynesideLife sure, sports washing is when governments or corporations use sport to improve their global reputation... You know like a country with an appalling human rights record building a shiny entertainment complex in another country for an ever so grateful group of people who have been so "hard done by" in the past
See pinned comment Paul. As a side note, I’m not sure where you’re getting information like that, but it doesn’t fit with what our owners have been telling us. There are some other outlets out there spreading information they haven’t researched
Finally an amazing building project that’s not got anything to do with the University. Brilliant news for the city all round. Every match day will be insane! 👏
Sela wouldn’t be able to showcase to the global audience then. The Fanzone will clearly be front and centre which I’m sure will back straight onto any extension 👍🏻
@@TynesideLife ah ok sit in thst stand with my uncle and cousin. Hoping might be able to get 2 extra seat when they expand it for me and my cousins lads .
Think you've hit the nail on the head Eddy. The Saudi's don't seem to do things by half and whilst we can't throw money at the playing field due to FFP constraints we can throw money at it off the pitch and Sela can showcase what the Saudi's are about. Total opposite of the times we helped Mike Ashley showcase Sports Direct... Exciting times ahead.
As usual Eddy, well researched thoughtful. It'll be amazing for the club and the city! Likely to be a bit too flash for me though, I'll probably stick to Gregg's for my usual pre-match flat white and sausage roll 🤣
After treatment of our beloved club being used as a cash cow for the previous occupiers prior to the arrival of our saviours I still feel I'm living a dream that's so amazing you feel that is all it could be. A dream you never wish to end. Everyday now there is a new venture to look forward to. Not too shabby for a 'small club with delusions above their status ' ala Simon Jordan and co. I remember when John Hall said Newcastle United will become the no 1 club in England and in top 10 in Europe. Finally the giant has shook off the effects of the anesthetic that put us in a slumber for 2 decades, only to wake up and march forward more determined than ever. #HWTL #InEddieWeTrust #BleedBlackAndWhite
I doubt any major decisions could be made on the fanzone until the stadium expansion plans have been nailed down. Whether separate on in conjunction I can envisage this construction as integrating with/below the Gallowgate expansion and becoming an extension to the stadium. Until then, hot dogs and bouncy castles I’m afraid 😊
Eddie , I was born the same year as you , lived near you when you were a kid , went to the same school as you and have supported Newcastle United as long as you. Has there ever been a more exciting time for us , I think not. Keep up the great work your doing.
I said before that they should develop a large bar, restaurant complex on that site with a club shop and fan spaces etc.that complements the current Shearer's and club shop.
I would imagine that any near term construction would include the foundation work and utilities re-routing for future stadium expansion and integration. That means extensive site prep complicated integrating with the metro. This could take a while. But it sounds fantastic.
I talk about these infrastructure considerations in the video. I link it to the planning application process which I researched and there’s no application yet. It all leads me to the same conclusion, that this will take a while and certainly won’t happen this season 👍🏻
Unfortunately it's all about money and promoting them selfs. This applies to all the sports that thay are looking at. I wonder what happens if they decide to walkway from sport.
Primarily, yes and I’ve discussed this a few times in videos but NUFC and the city will benefit massively, as we’ll effectively be in their slip stream. They won’t be walking away from sport as there’s a far wider economic plan in place for them. I study this topic. Great times for us! 👍🏻
You tell me aclub that isnt here to make money. Do you think that any sponsor isn't going to make money through the sponsorship. Give yourself a shake man
The comment is directed at sports in general, it's getting to be about money for the top of the tree in all sports but hard for people teams coming in. It's not driven by the sport it is driven by money and in some case washing the sins away.
Personally I can see anything major with the Fanzone being on hold until they can legally show every match. Jamie Reuben was on a podcast recently and described the 3pm TV blackout as madness and outdated.
I agree there needs to be better coverage but that’s a bit like saying we can’t build our new bar until we’ve designed the beer mats. Think bigger Dan 😃🤛🏻
I’ve never heard the owners say that bud. But they have mentioned about working in partnership with Sela to bring a works class Fanzone and actively looking for an architect 👍🏻
@TynesideLife they mentioned it when they took the club over. And you have covered it in the past. The goal will be to increase the stadium size. That's the only area we can logically extend. So why build permanent structures. Keep up the good work pal 👍
@@fatgeordie29 you’re correct and I’ve covered it several times. What you claimed was that it was their ‘main goal’. They’ve never said that and that’s something entirely different. I’m sure they will get round to expansion when the time is right. See pinned comment as it appears I’m absolutely correct on the Fanzone 👍🏻
@TynesideLife am not saying they have said it. What am saying is the fact they want to expand at some point sooner rather than later . They aren't going to do something that is going to have to be knocked down in 10 years. I hope they do something. The metro needs be jazzed up and if they can do something that doesn't restrict expansion I am all for it.
