Thank you so much for sharing this! My husband had to replace his 10yr old Keurig this weekend. Only to find that the newer models kept tripping my breakers while heating. We were going nuts! I watched everything from changing my breaker to a 30amp to just plain hiring an electrician to figure it out. Until I found this video! I bought an $8 Phillips surge protector off Amazon, paid $3 for 4am delivery and low and behold, PROBLEM FIXED! Oh thank goodness!! He’s happy to have his coffee and a working machine again! Neat trick I'll have to share this with my coworkers who are electrician like myself. We haven't have issues lately with AFCI nuisance tripping, but in the past, most notable during the first 5 years or so when AFCIs were first mandated for bedrooms around 2002, vacuum cleaners were a major culprit. Wonder if a surge protector would make a difference if a vacuum is causing nuisance tripping ?? The latest AFCI breakers have definitely improved and less prone to this problem vs earlier models.

This whole acr fault breaker code is annoying. Motors create an arc, thats just what they do. Any electric motor you use will immediately pop the breaker. I cant use my blender, my vacuum, even my air fryer occasionally pops it. Had to replace them for inspection for redoing my kitchen. Theyre expensive as hell (over 700$) looking like ill just have to switch them back to normal ones after the final inspection

No- I fortunately don’t have these on my home, just the additional out buildings like my office with the coffee pot. I can say I’ve used a small dirt devil vacuum out there with no trouble.
