Nikolaos Tsimpetonidis You could buy with much headache as there are a ton of bugs in Fusion. It’s very unstable as of now and bogs down heavily. Bit annoying, future versions coming soon.

@@VFXforfilm Thank you very much for the quick and useful reply. I am currently learning/improving my skills (with non-commercial version) and wish to start slowly freelancing/doing small projects to get experience and progress. At the same time apply to any vfx studio. The reason that I am thinking fusion, is because Nuke is too expensive and I personally cannot afford it. I know that its considered the industry standard, but the price is overblown for an individual user like me. Taking in consideration your experience, what would you advise for a newcomer like me in the VFX industry? What would be the best way to go? Use Fusion (maybe Natron) temporarily or gother money and directly invest in Nuke license? Many thanks again for you help and time. Regards, Nikolaos

Nikolaos Tsimpetonidis Id try all options (that are free). It’s a tough racket in VFX (and will probably be even tougher once this economy gets back up again). My advise is to ask God (Jesus), what’s his will for your life. No door is opening unless by him ;) You can strive for success and even if you got “it”, the doors don’t open unless by God himself. Please tell me how did you get the plate shot exported from maya?

Shinjan Mukherjee you can’t use the non-commercial version. That said, you plug your scene node (with cameras and point cloud attached) to a “writegeo” node set to fbx export. Alembic (.abc) is an option for export as well. Then import .fbx into nuke.
