@X D I'm using nuke since 2010 and it's an amazing tool. It was little bit tough to get in (I was AE user) but I can't imagine to comp in different software - it's the industry standard. I also heard good oppinions on fusion, but never tried it.

Wish I had seen this 2 years ago! But I guess the studio I was at not giving a proper Lidar scan was part of the issue. Lovely tutorial though, great techniques to keep in mind. Also love that you used the little known "spherical transform."

Wow, that was intense! I really like the way how you combine so much stuff, distort one element with another, bring it into the 3d space and make it look like its just one massive effect! I cant wait for more videos like that ! :D

Great content as usual. You absolutely hit the kind of compositing I'm looking for. Great complement to my current projects with Houdini

very nice again! how long those processes usually last? from the first ideia until the final render?
@CompositingAcademy

This shot took me probably 10-12 days to do, including the lighting / rendering part (which admittedly I'm a bit slower at because most of the time I work in Nuke as a compositor, however I'm getting faster on the CG side of things) Also, I bought the model online, so that saved a lot of time.

@@CompositingAcademy nice! Quite fast. I'm asking this because I miss some content talking about this planning side of a shot, covering all the steps to get trough to do a shot like this. Mainly, as you mentioned, when we work as a compositor most of the time but need to generate other elements and layers outside nuke. This kind of knowlege is so useful for ocasions that you have to do all the stuff by your own. cheers! and thanks again for the great stuff ;)

@@elironejunior3420 Yeah definitely. That's something I'm studying constantly at the moment as I'm co-directing a cg film currently. Learning how to plan out shots artistically, compositionally, lighting / framing / timing, it's a ton of work. Recently I've just been focusing on 2d thumbnailing for example, which exposes you to a completely different way of thinking. But extremely fun to learn and pushes you forward a lot as an artist (which spills over into compositing as well) In NK606 I am planning on talking about some of those planning out concepts, but probably I'll expand into more of that as the channel grows as well.

Hi, it is possible to follow this tutorial using the non commercial version of nuke ? And get the same final result ?

Great tutorial, very creative use of an assets, thanks for sharing. I Also love the camerashake, is it simple tranform animation, or is there any tips on that?
@CompositingAcademy
@CompositingAcademy 2 года назад
Thanks! The camera shake was just a simple Camerashake node, usually I just play around with the frequency and amplitude and increase the amplitude up as something comes across the frame. For a more continuous camera shake though I would probably do it on the virtual 3d camera with a bit of noise multiplied against the movement, versus doing a 2d shake because you get real parallax

can you sell the script for study?

unfortunately not this one, the model had pretty strict licensing from the author so I can't re-distribute the renders
