in this tutorial, we will learn the basic fundamentals of colour correction.
we follow the few steps _
1. Black match _
Adjusting Black Levels with the Add/Grade/Toe Node.
Add/Grade/Toe lifts the black level, in a similar way to gain controls, but with a roll-off so that whites are mostly not affected.
2. Luminance Match _
Luminance (brightness, lightness) is the level of light in your colour. Black has a very low luminance and white has a very high luminance. This separates the difference between, let's say, pitch black versus dark grey. Most colour grading and colour correction tools include “HSL” sliders.
3. Saturaction Match _
In Nuke, you can use the Saturation Adjustment slider to make saturation corrections by dragging it to input values between -1 and 1. A value of -1 completely desaturates the image to a shade of gray, while a value of 1 completely saturates it
4. Contrust Match _
Nuke's ColorCorrect node can be used to make quick adjustments to contrast, gamma, gain, and offset. These adjustments can be applied to a clip's master, shadows, mid-tones, or highlights.
5. RGB Balance _
Color correction in the switcher is performed by either Processing Amplifiers (Proc Amps) in the HSL (Y-Cr-Cb) color space or by RGB Color Correctors in the RGB color space. The RGB color correctors allow you to adjust the red, green, and blue component gain, offset, and gamma of the video signal.
