The IKV 73 & Strv m/42 EH in War Thunder have access to a CRAZY shell that has 260g of TNT. Basically, that's a HE shell with 68mm of penetration making it one of the most powerful shells of its battle rating.
If you can imagine loading a Minecraft Creeper into your barrel and firing it at Mach 2, then this is pretty much what it is. It's incredibly fun and satisfying to use.
The Ikv 73 and the Strv m/42 EH are great little tanks with incredible mobility and even better gun elevation angles. Its ability to fight on hills is pretty much unrivaled at Rank 2 so it's the ideal vehicle for blitzing through the battlefield!

I have taken to calling swedish shells "slapgrenade" if it's "slpgr" (because they absolutely slap, as evidenced), "slippery" if it's "slpprj" (because these shells love to bounce off of angled surfaces), and a derivative of slapgrenade is the "slapsgrenade" if it's the HEAT (slpsgr). Only the nordic gods know what these abbreviations *actually* mean.

They arent actual acronyms, just shortened ny ripping out a bunch of letters. Similar to how the german shells are pz gr. The swedish military loves giving very long and specific names, usually as a single compound word and then shortening it to something incomprehensible and unpronounceable. Like luftvärnsterrängdragbil.

@@misterperson3469 Huh...used the wrong word then. Abbreviation. To be fair, I shouldn't complain. I am from Germany, the land of Panzerkampfwagen, Flugabwehrselbstfahrlafetten and 8,8 cm Panzerabwehrkanone 43/1 auf Fahrgestell Panzerkampfwagen III/IV (selbstfahrend).

You should try the italian 75/34 M42 Tank destroyer. It has 270g of TNT and 100mm of armor at 3.3. You either love it or hate it. I love it

The 13.2mm’s on the B18’s truly are insane. If I’m remembering correctly, they’re the earliest gun of around that caliber that gets HE. A 13.2mm with HE… doesn’t sound like much but it’s perfect for taking out critical components

Yeah the Swedes packed those little shells with an absurd amount of explosives. However, this came at the cost of abysmal penetration and shell structure. It's rough to play, but if you manage to penetrate then the enemy WILL die

By 1942 we weren't exporting any tanks because we needed them all to ourselves, and by the time the war ended the m/42 wasn't really on par with the tens of thousands of surplus T-34-85s and M4 Shermans available for cheap.

These tanks are everything the stubby-barrel Panzer-4s wish they were. Good mobility, armor that isn't flat plates, good velocity, an APHE shell that can actually penetrate things, and insane explosive mass on all shells.

"Träff" means "hit" in swedish, and that's pretty much the thing he says all the time. Sometimes he says this line at 19:49 "Träff, bra gjort" which pretty much means "Hit, well done". Then of course the laugh "Hit haha hit, hit" and sometimes very excited "TRÄFF! JA!" - "HIT! YES!" (that last one I've heard with the words in different orders if I remember correctly).

I just played the Japanese M47 a couple of days ago, totally stock I think I got 5-6 kills and survived about 2/3rds of the match, taking loads of shots until my breech got destroyed and I was stuck repairing. It was actually pretty fun

If they gave people on spawns like 10 seconds of no hitbox or clipping so you can pass through each other to go the direction you want. The swedish P40 75 mm has a APHE round with like 76 pen and 201 mg filler. It will knock out anything it enters. Plus it is similar to a T34 if you angle the front fairly well. I think it's HE round is something like 666.7 mg filler.

If you haven't, you should fly out the xp-55 in ground battles. Simultaneously the best anti-cas and cas plane. Melts ground vehicles top down. The only thing that out-turns it are zeros and biplanes.

as a Strv m/42 EH player i can't help but recommend using the APBC round it is really good it can go through the Su-122's UFP and the 105 sherman's UFP with a slight angle down

I find if you don't load HE for light targets, you just aim for the engine or the gun breach and it's thick enough to fuze the APHE shell, and it's pretty much an HE shot.

The spawns should be like in warhammer 40k tabletop...you have the ENTIRE back side of your map to spawn in and your team gets spread out along it. They have like 500 square meters and spawn people in the same 20 square meters, it makes no sense at all.

suggest trying the recently added BTM1 shell, great stealth shell with thats amazing for removing bmp's, beglepanzer's, puma's and especially 2s38's, only thing it really struggles with is the sides of soviet mbt's but you can still hit their floor at good distance and steep angles through their tracks. its great for the ZLT11 but its prolly more fun on the WMA cos you'll see more leo 1s, bmp's and less of the 10.0 soviet tumors.

Hey Odd don't worry about Seal clubbing is saw a guy pretty much only ever play the M22 having over 4000 kills with it. also maybe check out the Ger Ozelot i think its a really weird AA it cant lock onto Helis over ~2km out for some reason.
