Numatic NV250's Unboxing & First Look 

Great machines Mr.Lux. Purely functional & designed for longevity. You can get new filters & other bits relatively cheap. The exhaust covers seem to be harder to find. Would make a good workshop vac for refurbs as they have the blower function too ? These are one of my favorite vacuums due to their total practicality. In fact Mr.Lux, i thought about fitting 2 hoses on thus giving you blower & vacuum function together at the same time which would be very handy at times in a workshop !!!

It's Bem-in-ster if you were wondering, not too far away from their current location in Chard (if you take the back roads through Broadwindsor). Somewhere I pass through frequently, although not past the old factory building. The site is now used by clipper teas if I remember correctly. The motor sounds a bit rough on startup but once running sounds fine (like my grans original 800W Henry). As for the age, the motor should have a sticker on it with the year of manufacture. And yes they do have a good suck, even without taking their wattage and age into consideration.

Did you realise during editing that your mic isn't working? Sounds like its just using the mic on your phone to me, Lovely to see Great Grandfather Henry, I'd completely forgotten about them but looking back they seemed to be everywhere commercial in the 80's and early 90's

Nice to see this pair of Numatic vacuums. I don't know how old they are but as they were made in Beaminster they are certainly a fair age as the Numatic factory has been in Chard since 1989. In fact, I was in Chard last week as I have a friend who lives near Chard. It certainly sounds like the motor bearing in both machines just need lube to get them running sweet.

Do you think that a power head is available for one of these ? I feel that with that great suction and with a power head this would be a really good vacuum.

I have the red model. Mine is a later model than yours. Mine is from 1995. But yes it still has the power take off on the back. The blue/white one looks like a later model as it has the permatex filter. The red filter is a filtrex filter BTW. I've also got a 1986 Henry. (There's a video on it on my channel)

I sold mine, but it went to somewhere that was very very local to me though.
