When I was a younger and heard this on the radio, I hated how pop it sounded and I'd always turn it off after a couple seconds into the song. Getting older and actually experiencing life has made me miserable, pretty much to the point I can't get out of bed and I'm so mentally exhausted. I don't want to die but I'm so tired of life, and finally listening to the lyrics, it made me realize just how badly I was needing to realize there are actually other people who suffer like this. PTSD. anxiety, and depression sucks a lot, and I really hope those who are suffering the way I am are able to keep hanging on. I know you're trying your best, don't feel ashamed of shutting down and needing time to survive.
This deserves more likes cus this is the exact same thing that happened to me I didn't like it on the radio this I was suffering depression and then I was listening to Spotify and this song came on and I immediately realized how much it made me feel comfortable and at home and how I REALLY connected to it and it made me feel better about myself 😢❤❤❤
I feel like this is a safe place to share… I and my dad have a big connection we love each other so so so much, he’s all my life he’s the meaning of my existence, but my mother and my dad are divorced and it was always like that, but when I was 9 my mother decided to move to Portugal and I’m from Brasil and it’s 11 hours away, and with the pandemic and his work I see my father rarely and I feel so empty, I don’t see him in more than 9 months that’s too much time, he just called me and told me that I am he’s whole life and we both were crying …… it hurts so bad to see him crying, and when we hang up I felt that feeling that something was missing that there was something missing and I don’t even know why it is or how to explain, he’s the other half of me, he is the reason I’m still breathing in this fcking earth rock and it’s been like that since I’m 9… I’m turning 14, I can’t take the pain anymore, every day I need to deal with this numb feeling… I know I’m doing it for him, but I’m tired of trying I tried every day for him since I’m 9… I don’t think anyone is going to read this but, thank you, I don’t know for what, I think I just needed to share what I’ve bottled up since I’m 9…

Sorry for the huge rant thing I've written, feel free not to read it as the other comment has said, that kind of love is pretty rare. I don't have that close of a bond with my parents so I've been relying on my friends who I felt happy and whole with. I've moved schools. Due to my mom thinking that the new school would be better for me, although I feel out of place and constantly lonely. What I'm trying to say is, I understand it. I understand this feeling you're having, they are everything to me, they were there for me when my own family weren't, they are the whole world to me. I still keep in touch with them obviously and I'm sure your dad thinks the same way my friends do. They want me to keep going, power through and one day, we'll meet again and everything will be okay. They've told me to also let go a little, to never doubt the connection that we've created and to enjoy the new life I've been given. And I did, it was a good decision in my opinion, you should also do the same. Not forcing you ofc! Take your time, and just take one small step if you need to. There is no rush.

I know it hurts right now but one day in the future you can move closer to your dad or maybe when you get to collage or somthing you can move closer to him but for now i would just say call ur dad daily and you guys can keep up dated And also i would ask if everything ok with your mother and you because if you guys are not really getting along you could maybe ask to live with your dad instead? Im assuming ur not the only child so your mother may not be lonly without you? The connection you have with your dad is quite rare usually people dislike there father and like there mother more but with you it is the other way round wich is intresting!
