From the shadows you hear me howl, You never believed, you never believed. From the feeding you are my all, Finally be gone, finally be gone. Pick up the pieces, Pick up the pieces that you never thought that you were true. Fight through the night, Shaking withdrawal, Blinded I fall. Fight through the long night, Shaking withdrawal, Blinded I fall. The days just drain away, but setting sun belongs to me.
This is a huge step up, Home was amazing but this goes so much harder without sacrificing that bleak feeling. One of my most anticipated albums of this year now!
Best random RU-vid suggestion ever, the album cover pulled me in and the musicianship and atmosphere made me stay; also on another note, literally found this gem a month after at my local record store, best purchase ever.
@@77blacktrip Here's another band similar (and the reason I found Numenorean).... Møl... Be warned, they ruined almost every other band I have ever listened to, they're that good.
You have my attention SoM. This sounds amazing, and am definitely looking forward to the full release. In fact, might even pick the vinyl because the more I listen to it, the more it seems this is gonna grow on me.
Damn this is amazing. 2018 was the year of mostly new bands to me and I was looking for 2019 to be the year of the greats with a bunch of huge bands coming out with records this year. But this is amazing. After one listen Im hyped for this release!
I haven't enjoyed a new metal act this much since I stumbled across Rivers of Nihil last year. Almost has a post-rock feel to it in places, but still with that black metal bite.
So mamy stuff coming out from everywhere, I do like this band, the music mainly...I just feel like an astronomer pointing my observations on the Kuiper's belt trying to find a specific asteroid
They will not be forgetted if rich as fuck and eternally listened first....... Rather stop always placing the older ones on a pedestal while music now needs to make new bands known in order to survive. PLEASE.
Man, SoM at the magick again! Post-Doom elements, Black Metal elements... a lot of folk here are mentioning a Gojira element, to me it sounds more like High On Fire's grimey chug. Anyways, fuckin' great! 😏
As someone who likes Gojira, they definitely have some aspects for sure. There is almost no denying that. But obviously they have more of that bleakish black metal feel.
If you like this, definitely check out their previous work, it's better in my opinion. If you don't like this, still go check them out. I personally don't like any of the singles they've put out this year, they all seem lesser to what they've put out before, especially "Home," I find that record up there with some other atmo black/black gaze
Yes? I take it you are surprised from your all caps comment. Post-black metal has been around (and been quite popular and divisive within the black metal community - some call it trendy, but there's no denying it's enjoyed a lot of hype and praise and a TON of bands have come out within this style) for over ten years. Twelve years ago Alcest made it incredibly popular (even outside of the metal scene), though there are earlier examples of the style. By the way. this isn't meant to sound critical or in any way negative. I'm just amused because this is not a new thing.
A band this good needs a new badass logo. That shit screams 'shitty American brutal death metal with pig vocals and lyrics about stomping on spines and chewing guts'.
