I had just overtaken a Ferrari and Megane, when in my mirrors, I see a Bike catching me and fast! I was like WTF? this guy was quick! Infact he did a 7.38 BTG. Please like my Facebook Page... / nurburgringbikerblog
It doesnt look slow. Looks fast actually... Mine looks like a slow video compare to this. People think i rode pcx125. Funny thing is i rode same 2017 sdr1290 as faster biker did. And i can't tell them a truth. My sdr1290 doesnt need electronic aids. I dont know why i bought Track pack options. Anyway Dont be bother to explain why it looks slow. They would know if they do it once.
You were very fast whereas the other biker didn’t care if he died or not while you rode like you planned on running again another day. The other guy was nuts especially when going through the automobile traffic he acted like all other cars were aware of his next move, you weren’t THAT trusting.
Wow, you're riding a KTM 1290? O... K, no wonder you're riding tepid, no proper fairing for wind protection, seriously torquey bike which obviously drives from the rear, so it'll slip and slide during acceleration... Now i get why you looked like you weren't trusting of the bike or the tyres, because that's what it looks like to me. Personally i wouldn't try to ride it the same as other sports touring or sports bikes, you'll have find your most comfortable way, but personally i wouldn't drop your revs too low and feather the throttle around corners, relying on that momentum rather than the low down grunt, because you'll come a cropper if you do because it's a seriously torquey bike. So a little twist of the throttle while changing down gears, keeping the revs up high, before you enter a corner and a smooth action out of the corners, rather than a full twist of the throttle on the corner out...otherwise you'll be in for a surprise and you'll be fighting it to keep the tyres on the floor
Really? Oh man, I am tired by people spreading misinformation on the internet. Everybody knows the only reason he is so fast is because he has a better gaming chair.
It looked to me like you were riding fast and smooth. It also appeared as if you could have caught up with him had you wanted to-- using lines, faster straights, harder and later braking--but you probably weren't willing to risk it. The way those cars force bikes into awkward/shallow lines is scary. When you passed the two cars occupying your outside line on that bumpy tight left-hander, that was some real pucker factor. Anyway, respect.
Thank You so much adaptiveagile, So the faster Guy was the 2012 and 2013 German Super Bike Champion Kevin Schmitt on a then brand new KTM 1290 Super Duke R, so and I'm happy to admit it, he is definitely a better rider than me! Lol even if his Bike was quicker than my Aprilia Tuono...😊👍
@@NurburgringBikerBlog I followed the thread and read that it was Schmitt. Very cool. You’re still pretty damn fast in my book. You know the saying... “One man’s ceiling is another man’s floor.”
Yeah must be fun for all the cars that can’t aggressively hit the corners because they have to let the bikes pass. The bikers need a track for themselves.
@@fornicateu2 it is true Buddy, if you want to go balls out on the Nordschleife you have to be prepared to pay the ultimate price! I'm not...😊 Funnily enough me and the other guy have both since crashed on the Nordschleife due to dropped fluids from cars, and he hasn't ridden since...
anybody else hold enough to have raced this track of 300+ time on gran Gran Turismo 3? that game made you memorize every track at least 100 times during the endurance races.
My dude. I could race this track with my eyes closed. I loved that game. I must have heard that Lenny Kravitz song "are you gonna go my way" like 300 times as well
LOL. Not hitting the rev limiter enough! Your riding is very smooth and lines good. Taking the cars puts the actual speed in perspective. It looks casual but wow!
Thank You, I often think that when I watch the videos, that I could be down a gear and further up the rev range, but tbh with a V4 you don't have to be, also I'm never going to break any records as I'm far too old and broken from too many big bike accidents! Ha ha...😂😂😂
Nice riding. Love the Aprilia. I have a 2020 RSV4 RR, and used to ride a 2015. Here's the the thing about these bikes: You don't want them falling below 7K rpms if you want to be quick out of the corners. It's a very peaky motor. Other than that, great riding!
Both faster and smoother than I am. Both having a decent run and enjoying it. Can’t say I’d be disappointed by being passed by them. I love two wheeled fun but I’m safer on four, I’ll leave them to it, I’d be dead inside a week if I was let loose on anything that quick 😂
Whoa! How was that possible without any help from Metallica at all? Nice work by all involved here. Its just nice to see a video of the ring without several thousand dollars (euros/yin/semolians/duckets/pounds/cheddar biscuits/moosecocks or whatever you call money) worth of engineering piled into a still smoldering retaining wall.
This used to be the most dangerous track in Europe, or was it the world? Things like taking a hill flat out, without seeing what is behind it. Do check video's on its history, it is really interesting.
Whenever I see a bike lean in a corner I worry someone has scattered sand, gravel or soil on the track. I guess that's why I stick four wheels. Good footage. Stay safe. 👍🏽
sidefx996. Yeah, big balls and a tiny brain = an encounter with a very unforgiving guard rail. I live on route 315 that is in the Schwartzwald . Aside from the nerve racking noise every summer from idiot bike riders , there is the noise from the Krakenwaken coming to pry them off of the guard rails . Pity.
Fantastic riding ...It must have been fun , the rider doesn't get sucked in to pushing further than they were already going which is approximately twice as fast as I would be going ! Top skills. Good awareness by the majority of cars too ( porche at the end maybe could have held off the overtake but I also love the fact the rider is so calm and smooth in that situation) I've always been wary of cars and bikes mixing on tracks ...when you meet an idiot on a bike track day they normally just fall off early in the 1st session and don't interfere with the fun ....bikes vs cars could be very different!
I used to get 3,000 miles out of rear tire. Dunlop sport elite, rear. Race compound on front. No way I could afford a race compound on the rear. New chain every other rear tire change. Suzuki gs750e 1983. License plate: RRNNN Nevada. Great fun bike
Very fast rider is on a naked upright bike while you are on a sport bike with fairings etc. Imagine how fast he is on a race bike like yours....great vid!
I am on a 2014 167bhp Tuono with no ABS or Traction control, he was on a Brand new 175bhp KTM 1290 Super Duke R with all the electric aids available...😉👍
the guy on the Aprilia Tuono (shooting the video) is riding a naked bike with a tiny fairing, where the passing bike is a sport bike with full fairing. Wind resistance plays a role. 140 mph on a naked bike rattles your eyeballs (i ride a tuono).
There's a saying that you don't hear these days, at least I don't anymore "slow is smooth and smooth is fast" and that looked pretty smooth, not with standing all those pesky cars getting in the way.
When you read 10.000 rev in top gear of a very fast RSV4, and the guy without the fairing appears, hunched on the half-handlebars, struggling with the near-300 kph air pressure (a biker would know, it is like having a cow lying over you)... In few moments he is gone. WTF MAN?!? And it's the ring: narrow road between guardrails and trees ... To whoever said the Aprilia was slow, just shut up, you'd probably crap yourself in bottom gear, if you'd try a V4. It does over 160 kph in bottom gear. IT'S NEVER SLOW, EVER.
1:15 - when competitive sailing on the open ocean and you see another catamaran pulling away from you like this it's called a HORIZON JOB, seems applicable here.
Biggeste difference is, you turn early, he turns in late 1:42 In fact you both are fast.. although you are holding back (your bike seems more powerfull you are not using whole rev range) but yes late apex is KING
lol what about the s1000r? They are more expensive but the s1000r is as tech as they get in a naked and are just as powerful. That's why I bought one a bit over a month ago. But each to there own.
Whats most impressive about that faster rider,, its unfaired and hes cracking on,, i used to ride infaired bike's and you're need the strength of a gorilla to hang on with that wind resistance battering you're body trying to rip you off the bike...great riding for both riders.
Those guys have brains that are just plain wired differently than ours, I think. Specifically ISLE OF MANN TT RIDERS & NORTHERN IRELAND DUDES. But I give these guys credit for riding very fast with, IMHO, just too many risks Other cars that do NOT want to be passed, like I believe the Red Porsche, NO RUNOFF AREA, lack of close Medical People, and an OLD BUMPY TRACK W BLIND CORNERS. NOT FOR ME! BUT APPRECIATE THE NUTS ON TBE GUYS THAT DO IT! 🤘
Totally! Me too!! Would be amazing to see MD, I think given a couple of day's he'd be properly quick, although Guy Martin has done many Laps during tourist drives on a Bike and isn't as quick as you'd think, and in 2019 Ian Hutchinson rode around and hated it, and was slow as fv@k!
cant compare bikes and cars, it just breeds a different mind set, for example, bikers probably think about corners a bit differently be cuase if you stuff up a corner on a bike, you may very well go sliding on your arse through the gravel, where if you mess up a corner in your car, all that may happen is that you drop that burrito from taco bell you were having for lunch.
The cam bike is feeling his way and is still road cautious. The bike lacks mid range grunt like a 1400 kwacka so u have to keep it on song holding the speed and that means an empty road to be safe.
Check out the old video of BMW R1150GS at the Isle of Man TT circuit. He's an a "slow" bike hardly trying, yet smokes far faster bikes time after time.
Both are naked Bikes, 2014 Aprilia Tuono V4 1000 and 2017 KTM 1290 Super Duke R...😊 Please check out my page on Facebook...👍 facebook.com/nurburgringbikerblog/
If you listen to the fast biker his revs drop after the very fast biker passes him. Ive been in that place, thinking im fookin fast and then your heart is ripped from you when you realise your just quick.
8.34 on a 2012 1199 panigale and I got overtaken four times by cars - and once by a shitty old vf750 being ridden by the guy who does 120-150 laps a day year in year out - all about talent !
Yap. He has extreme lines using all the pavement he ca use. You take some margin instead.thats the difference. Your riding is anyway very fast, clean, and safer. Congrats!
Thank you, I mean he's an ex German Super Bike Champion and all around nice guy, I'm just a small time blogger with a passion for all things with an engine...😁
