This was a fantastic old school matchup of highly motivated centres that used to compete for the starting spot in Denver! Nurkić wasn't happy about the trade and wished Denver a happy summer as they were competing to get into the playoffs. He was right Denver did not go to the playoffs and his Portland did, but Denver got the MVP player and a championship instead.
Jokić got the starting position even though Nurkić played great. Now Nurkić is very motivated to go at Jokić who became a champion and 2x MVP winner with Denver.
