It’s sad. Most people go into healthcare because we all genuinely want to help people. This is why when my grandmother was in the hospital I did what I could to help the nurses. I'd clean the room while I was there and did a lot of the minor things like gave my grandmother baths, changing her, go through my grandmothers meds to ensure her they were right so she'd wouldn't argue with them and always asked what else I could do and did it. Sometimes I'd hear the nurses during shift change "you get room 412 but I'm going to be popping in there too, I like that room" or they would to "YAY I get 412!" Then they would walk in like "heyyyyy granny! you got me again tonight! ya need anything?" Then look at me and go "did you eat today? I know you've been here all day with your grandmother, make sure you eat" They became like an extended family lol

When my dad, who was a bit, um, demanding, was in the hospital, I did as much as I could that didn’t involve something the medical staff NEEDED to do for observation (like bathing). Nurses are always heroes. Have been for all time. And if hospitals were run by caring, considerate people (not mega millionaire psychopaths), then working conditions would be more bearable. We have kids whose parents didn't bother to quit alcohol or drugs while pregnant or whose parents, instead of caring for and teaching their kids, abuse and neglect them, or provide an opposite example of how to human. There is a crisis in the form of a shortage of people willing to put up with the disrespect and abuse. @nerdineverythingnerdinnoth4984
@@myopinion4108 Just one question: *How is teachers telling students about sex identity and sexuality comparable to literal abuse and neglect!?* Seriously! Why are you focussing on something like that, which probably isn‘t as bad as it‘s seen seeing how in the same spirit a book was banned from school that had a gay penguin couple just being romantic parents. Since this apparently isn‘t because the penguins are gay, shall we now ban every kids medium that has something romantic in there? Shall we ban the Disney classics like beauty and the beast, lion king, and snow white from schools, because there is always at least one love relationship in there? Restricting teachers from talking about sex identity and sexuality is done in exactly the same spirit as the book bannings, and distracts from and creates problems rather than fixing ones like those mentioned in the original comment. Sorry for the rant and turning things completely political. I won‘t answer to any heated political comments, since I get the urge to throw up imagining a long hyperpolitical hateful discussion under a steveioe skit. My whole family and I were having to make the decision of either letting her go (she was intubated and couldn’t breath on her own) OR to put in a trach which would necessitate around the clock care. I remember being so ANGRY at my grandpa because he firmly said “she told me she didn’t want to be intubated and she’s already been like this for almost a week….we can’t let her suffer like this.” I was selfish and wasn’t ready to live without her and it took me awhile to remember that it’s what’s best for HER that’s important. I basically had a mini mental breakdown in the hallway and one of the nurses caressed my shoulders and didn’t even say a word. She knew there was nothing she could say, but she brought me so much comfort in that moment just by showing concern and empathy. God bless all nurses. ❤

In the hospitals around Atlanta they have a unit where moms can drop off their baby and get rest/sleep. I never wanted to use them though because it's hard trusting a stranger with your baby when that person has more than a dozen other babies to look after. After she had a baby, she was going to decrease her hours, but she's the biggest breadwinner & husband (who likes to spend $) convinced her to keep her hours up. They DID buy a house (w/ a yard AND garage) in the city, but I'm not too happy with the husband. He's not a HUGE money spender, but he does have 4 cars IN a MAJOR CITY. (Not luxury, but still ... AND he has a storage space bc he has too much stuff). I justT worry about my sister's health.

What kind of partner convinces a woman to keep her hours up in an extremely stressful profession after she just had a baby? That’s probably not physically good for her body! I hope it doesn’t lead to postpartum for her. She deserves some maternity leave! It sounds like you care a lot for her. Maybe there’s a way for you to meet up with just the two of you and you could talk about your concerns about her health? (you have to be very accommodating to her schedule obviously!). ❤
