Thanks sis for the information. I passed my Nclex last year November via the self sponsored route. Working presently in the UK with the NHS and it has been stressing. Imagine 1:9/10 patients and most times with no HCA. I'm scared of falling into the wrong hands with agency to help me with getting a job. Please i need advice. I have also done my visa screening via CGFNS.
Thank you for this… I remember an incident where my patient need walking aid and I phone the OT/ PT. She told me that they don’t provide walking aid, that I should pick a zimmer from the ward for the patient my jaw dropped at her response.
Hi Lola! This is a great video! I’m glad you recommended some books that would help new USRNs. I’m a UK RN and a USRN . I will be heading over there soon. You have a great personality 💕 New subscriber here.
Thank you for this information so much ❤still have more questions if possible. Like what is the staffing like in the US, is it still short? Are the staff welcoming... I have a great relationship on my ward in the UK, so i wondered if the US singled out UK nurses?
Thank you lola enjoyed your advise. Can I use ERES for Texas, and when I get my license I transfer my license to New York BON. Having in mind New York does not use ERES. Thank you
When you get your license using ERES for Texas, you will have to endorse your license to New York as it is a non compact state. New York in some cases will most likely require you to use CGFNS, they also do their own evaluation themselves. Lola correct me if I'm wrong.😊
@folade Linda is right do also check the New York board as some states may be strict and insist on their own credential evaluation or request cgfns So always check with each state what they want from you. Remember CGFNS is the gold standard the bees knees, the masters of the game if you could call it that. This is why they can get away with the snail Pace and the holier than thou way of doing things 😂
Hi dear, please am studying MSc Pre-registration Mental Health Nursing in the UK, when I become a uk registered nurse, is it possible to work in the USA as a mental health nurse?
Hi, I'm doing this too. I'm Msci adult and mental health nursing. We can't work in the US with this, but it is beneficial that we have dual. After a year experience, you may be able to apply for the NCLEX. Avanti is a good agency I found recently but I still need to complete my years experience.
Nursing in the UK is brutal especially in the NHS thank God I have just a few months to ILR then I will start my US journey proper. I have started window shopping for agencies to go with though I am very selective as not as desperate as I was a few years ago. Some of this US agencies are 😅
Your so right it’s better to shop Around first and do your research before settling for any agencies. Always remember they make more money on your head than your making from them. As for the nhs all their nurse are running away. Maybe one day they will start paying better, we can only pray.😀
So your not a nurse yet? Just to bare in mind that msc still doesn’t guarantee the missing hours you will still need to go through the evaluation process with cgfns and still likely have missing hours to be eligible to take Nclex exam. Perhaps think ahead. I have a video on how I met my missing hours through requesting community placement.
