There are people in the NHS who are band 5 for 18 years. There are opportunities for people to do top-up degree programmes, self funding online . There are other people who have also been sponsored by their NHS Trusts to do modules that add up to degree , so it depends on what people want. Good job ladies.

I work in a care home and my friend who came here in June, working for the same company is starting her B.Sc in January. Its online study for 2 years in university of Derby. Nobody is going to stop you. We earn lower than your offer but she already have half the school fees. The school fees is £5,000 but she's paying only £1400 in January to register some courses. If you really like nhs, go for it but you can study while working in a care home.

I would like to add to the statement you made about the trainings. I am a care home worker and the trust region where I work, we are being trained on so many skills, they put it out for individuals to choose which they want to do. It depends on what you want to do like you pointed out also. I have been trained on some courses as well. So the trainings are not limited to NHS alone. Just thought to add this here also for clarity.

My wife is a BSc. Nurse, RN,RM and a Masters degree holder in Public health. What are her chances as regards getting a job through NHS trust and Care home. Is the Masters degree an added advantage in getting a job and climbing the bands? It was written nurses who got back employment with NHS can come What of nurses that got job with private hospitals and carehomes, can they travel to UK too?

I saw this ad on NHS Twitter page saying they will pay 5000£ towards nurses education. My question is does this apply to international nurses joining the NHS or who are already in the NHS?

I'm a U.S. Nurse but I work in the Hospital system (NHS ) here in the US part time ( 2 shifts a week) just for the insurance and I work the nursing home (care home) the rest of the time because it is honestly less stressful in my opinion. Do the nurses in the U.K have the opportunity to do that or it's not feasible? Both settings offer me something different.

How did you get to select night shifts. I will be starting my nursing job soon and would prefer night shifts due to child care. Do I need to discuss with my line manager
