Truth: I used to struggle with med dose until I started using dimensional analysis, which is an amazing technique that makes med dosage questions much easier to solve! Good luck with nursing school!

The way I can remember is if the order is in hours, no time conversion. If order is in minutes, you need a time conversion😊

This was very helpful! Do you have an tips for knowing the side effects to medications? I know what the drugs do, but I have a hard time remembering the side effects.

Yes!!! Whatever medication it is, think about what BODY SYSTEM or ORGAN IT AFFECTS! Example: the drug Lithium is a mood stabilizer drug used for bipolar depression. The organ it affects is the BRAIN! Think what side effects can happen with the brain? Lethargy, confusion, decreased level of consciousness, etc. If you get a select all that apply with side effects you wouldn't choose something like jaundice since that DOES NOT INVOLVE THE BRAIN. Try to simplify it. This was a life changing hack for me!!! :)
