sandra how are you doing this? I want to become an RN and my end goal is to be a Nurse Injector. I have contact ECPI but their program is only daytime and don’t any anyone that can take care of my kids for free! They do offer an LPN program at night, but their LPN to RN is at daytime so idk how I would do it. :(

Good luck on your journey as a nurse ! ❤️❤️❤️ And girl, I tried that whole group studying thing - me & my classmates all ended up talking about everything but the material 🤦🏻‍♀️. I think I’m better off studying alone - at least for now lol.

I am researching programs in different states. Lol I will move for cheaper tuition. Most of the LPN private schools are between $15,000-$22,000. Smh I really don’t want to pay that. Especially when I know that I can get my associates at a community college for less. Just doesn’t make much sense. I found LPN schools in different states that are like $4,000-$6000.

Yeah I agree it’s expensive but here in New York that goes for everything almost. I’m certainly not paying anywhere near the 22k - I did get full grant & if you qualify for fasfa you can still bust out 1 year and get your adn RN and be under that. Most employers do give tuition reimbursement out here for lpns to continue for their RN so I’m not too worried about that either. I know further down south you go it’s much cheaper for these programs but I can’t just pick up & leave. Lol.

Lol!! You caught that right 😂. He does that allll the time ; fighting his sleep like he’s about to miss something. Then the next minute he’s comatose 🤦🏻‍♀️. That’s one thing - this kid is a good sleeper when he does fall asleep. Lol. And yesss keep it in mind & you will !! ❤️❤️❤️ ( and thank youuu 💗 it’s been a crazy start lol but I’m pushing through it )

I'm in nursing school and I will say definitely stay focused and do not give up!!! It's tough but you can do it. It's all worth it in the end. You're doing this for yourself and most importantly you son who needs you more than anything. Stay positive, definitely stay organized and stay ahead of the game! If you have free time bang out homework assignments! You gotta sleep, breathe, and eat nursing! Lol. Good luck to your girl. I'll be following you on your journey😊😊😊

In Houston we have LVN-BSN programs since you have all your prerequisites...I didn't want to retake my science bc they have an expiration date. So that's why I'm doing ADN-BSN route. God willing🙏🏾

Heyy girl thank you ! He’s a piece of work though lol ❤️❤️ and congrats !! Don’t be nervous, you’ll be fine ! I would just make sure to plan ahead & you won’t get lost. I found that my program started off a bit unorganized because we didn’t even get our books or ATI access on time - so we had tests pushed back & then double assignments piled up on top of each other having to be due the same week ! - we didn’t even get our name tags yet and have clinical Friday ! A HOT MESS ok??? 🤦🏻‍♀️Lol. But don’t stress yourself out. I would wait until you start to figure out exactly what you’ll need. But basic necessities : stethoscope, BP cuff ( if your school doesn’t supply these), pen light , watch, pen & pad and you’re good lol. Much luck to you! You got a week to relax & enjoy life before you’re on lockdown ahaha ❤️❤️

I just found a nice school for LPN, well it seems nice so far. I am going to apply to it before the deadline. Anyways I came to RU-vid to see if anyone else was doing a LPN to get a Diploma and I found your video! I am in my 5th quarter in lpn school I failed pharmacology so it has pushed my graduation date back 3 months i was originally supposed to graduate December 2019 now it’s gonna be June 2020 the classes keep getting more difficult 😪

I was debating whether to just go straight for my rn, but decided to start with my lpn. I've been out of school since 02 I did get my emt licence in 2014. Just got my teas book to study, I was so overwhelmed as soon as I opened it smh. Planning on starting school in Jan. Thank you for the video it was great. Btw how old is your son 😍😍😍( I have 4 kids)

Heyyy - that’s good you have your emt license ; it’ll help you tremendously in the Lpn program. We have 2 emt guys in my class who we all lean on for help here & there lol. And girl I understand; when I first studied for the teas I’m like I haven’t seen any of this since 05 - but I bought the ATI for dummies & that helped lol. (Also the Cliffnotes for Anatomy & Physiology Quickbook off Amazon - it helped me jog my memory back to biology etc). I wanted to go for my RN first as well but as I spoke to many RN’s who are friends , family , even my doc & instructors stated they all started off as an LPN & it made them a more knowledgeable nurse. It was my personal circumstances as well to choose this route but after this I’ll be going for my RN. But yessss if you have the opportunity to start in January go for it & keep me posted ! Xoxo and my son is 2! Lol he still looks/ acts like a baby ( but that’s his congenital disorder - I’ve been wanting to make a video on that ). But I give it to you - 4 kids! I know it’s hard work but that’s a blessing ❤️❤️❤️❤️ I definitely want another one lol but I’d like to settle down & of course be done with school.

I'm also a momma of a child with special needs. My son is 5 and has a number of issues and is followed up by many different drs. Im entering LPN in September and I'm excited/terrified at same time.

::hugs from one mama to another:: I definitely know how stressful and overwhelming it can be with the numerous doctor appointments. Don't be discouraged 💕 Make sure you have a stable support system that understands the temporary sacrifice with being in school & be sure to create a scheduling system for both you and your little one. Nursing school was tough but creating a system for myself got me through it. Wishing you much success on your journey. You got this !

I’m leaving an abusive relationship with my 2 children. 5years old and one year old and I’ve been looking into schooling for LPN because I’ve always been very empathetic towards people. My problem is the fear of being away from my kids (especially my one yo daughter) all day all the time. And I have no family or friends around to help me so Ill be doing this all by myself! Can y’all leave me some tips or just ease my mind maybe?

im 19 I live in Texas and im almost finished with my first 15 weeks of nursing school I have finals next week and im a little worried because I have a 72 in my health assessment class and I need a 75 and I have to make an 86 on my finals and I have no doubt in my mind that I can do it but you know its still that little woresome that I have but I just know next term I won't slack off as much as I did this first term but some guidance would be really great lol?!!

Heyy - if you’re considering the lpn route first it’ll honestly help you with the practical experience you don’t really get with going the RN route initially ( which is mainly theory ) so with that said yes you’ll have to take some pre-req courses. If you’re like me where I’ve taken college credits before they may transfer but it depends on how long ago ( I even have to check myself). So you would do the LPN to RN bridge program where essentially you’d complete it in half the time bc most schools do take LPN experience as credit. If I didn’t have so many responsibilities on my plate I would’ve just done the RN program first but same time I’d rather have the hands on experience, then work & earn the degree same time.

Hiii - for this first semester I have Foundations, Fundamentals , A&P and Pharm ( which I don’t have actual theory for until the first week of October). They split fundamentals & pharm for us - which is ok bc I’m not trying to be stressed out yet lol. And I’m not sure what the requirements may be anywhere else but where I’m at in NY ( my school specifically ) just required you to take the TEAS and score high; go through an interview process and that’s pretty much it. It helped if you have had any healthcare experience or at least a college degree also. I don’t possess any healthcare experience but have a lengthy corporate ( finance & legal) background including an art ed degree & here I am lol.

Congrats!!💕💕 awe i know it’s a lot & school in itself can be overwhelming ; you’ll need a stable support system/ some type of respite ( bc you’re going to need time to study & rest & time to get back n forth to class / clinical). Be sure to plan out your days ahead of time & get in the groove of following a schedule. Wishing you the best with everything. You CAN do this !! ❤️❤️ trust the process & know that in the end you’ll be able to do more for yourself & your babies ❤️❤️ 😘

Hii ❤️ so sorry I’m replying late. YT is the worst w/ notifications. There’s a bunch of lpn programs here but it depends where you’ll be relocating back to. I’m on the island & there’s a couple here. It also depends on where you’d like to do your clinical rotations. I’m not really a Long Island girl & hated having to drive deep into Suffolk. Would’ve preferred to be on the qns/ Nassau Border but I had to suck it up. Let me know if you still need some guidance on the schools - I know a couple & can list them. ❤️❤️

How did you get a grant. I’ve been trying to find some but my financial aid advisor is no help not even with grants. I’m a mom of 2 my bf/kids father is paying my tuition by hisself because he doesn’t want me working, want me to focus on school & the kids but i just want to help him. It’s stressful

Heyy ❤️. You don’t necessarily need any pre-req’s to get in an Lpn program ( at least most of them). Definitely check with the school you’re looking to attend, but for the most part it’s not required; just suggested because that boosts your academic placement and chances of getting in your program. Especially if it’s a competitive one.

Heyy congrats!! that’s around the corner. Btw, How was medsurg for you ? We start that next quarter in January. Right now we just wrapped up our fundamentals midterm & we break into pharmacology next week...and then back into fundamentals in December for our final - idk why the broke it up like that🤦🏻‍♀️ but I guess they were trying to fit all four classes ( + foundations & A&P) in one quarter. I’m enjoying it all but August ‘19 can’t come fast enough lol ( and I just got started ) so I know you’re ready to graduate lol. Best of luck to you girl. You got this 💪🏼💗💗

Hi ❤️ and thank you !! Congrats to you btw !❤️ as far as A&P, I took it so long ago so I needed a refresher. It just so happens that our pharmacology professor is also our A&P professor so in that aspect we’re learning more in depth about the body & the disease processes + medications. A&P does go hand in hand w/ Pharm though. I wouldn’t say it’s really any easier - and that’s bc there’s more of an Nclex style approach with A&P in nursing school.

Hii @LouieFetiche ❤️- before I spurt out that it would be pointless lol bc I feel like it would be; let me first ask ... does the LPN program you’re looking to go into require prerequisites? Mine didn’t ( and I’ve taken A&P @ a community college yrs ago - so wasted $ in my case). The other thing is too; I’m looking to do the LPN to BSN as well , ( as I kind of just found this out recently ) but there are BSN programs that will accept LPNs holding a bachelors already; which I do but from another college I attended. I would say most LPN programs don’t require the pre-req bc a degree usually isn’t required ( at least by me & I go to an accredited school). With that said we have to take A&P / Pathophysiology and this program will count & transfer once I’m done. Find out if your Lpn requires it though. If it doesn’t - don’t bother.

And to add - just for example : I hold a BA degree & once I’m done w/ this program I’ll hold the LPN license. I then can apply to a BSN program despite me having another degree in something entirely different where of course A&P wasn’t required. So you can save your $ unless your Lpn requires it. Also, even if you were to go from that to an ADN, the lpn would count and you’d just be taking the core RN nursing classes anyway. But look into your schools’ requirements.

Just to chime in on this, I’m here in PA and I am doing the LPN program then I’ll do the LPN to ADN bridge. For the nursing school I want to go to I still have to take a entrance exam and also they still want you to have those prerequisite before you take core RN classes. So I have an associates degree in health sciences so when I go to the RN school I’ve already have completed my prerequisite classes for the nursing school and can just take the entrance exam and do core RN classes. But like @ItsMissRyn said check your schools requirements. Hope this helps! 😘

Hi ! Sorry for the delayed reply. I’ve heard of the PSB for both PN & RN but my program didn’t require that as a test. I haven’t come across that as a requirement for any of the programs I looked up here in nyc- just the TEAS.

But you can do it - if that’s your plan to move to the states & continue your education keep that goal in mind. Be diligent in 2020 to make it happen for ‘21. I want to go to nursing school to be an lvn then bridge to rn later. The lvn program is 12 months here and 22,000 also. Did the grant pay for the whole program? I’d like to start as soon as possible or else I have to save for the program or most of it which would take me 3-4 years.

Hiii ❤️❤️ go for it !!! The grant I received was a full grant in what they could honor - it covered the majority of my tuition so I have less than 5k to pay in another 6 months or so. Don’t get discouraged by the worries of financial burden. Did you look into financial aid/ loans ??? Try and research or sit down with an advisor from school before you put it on hold. 💕💕

Hi, im a male in NYC. I’ve looked into a couple schools already. My question is, for accelerated programs...12 - 18 months you most like get a certificate instead of a degree. So will I be able to use that to bridge into RN later in life ?

You’ll get licensed as a nurse as you have to take the NCLEX. The PN license will stand as credit and leverage for the required theory classes you would need to take if you didn’t have the lpn. Most schools have bridge to bsn programs so yes you can always advance into RN from the LPN position if you want to.

And yes it’s funny because I was in an R.N. program accelerated but I got pregnant and since it was a city school Long Island schools would not take the credits so now I’m basically starting over - I was upset and feeling like I wasn’t sure if it was worth it but after seeing your videos it’s literally set up just like my accelerated RN program- like legit the same .. which makes me feel so happy because I know it will be just as challenging after watching your videos luckily I have the knowledge from my old RN but I needed this so much!

It’s definitely possible to work - I’m not sure about full time while being in a full time program. It can get very overwhelming. Considering I have my son & the amount of coursework - I don’t think I would’ve pulled through. I was the only parent in my class so I can only speak for myself on how I juggled it all. I saved up for a year’s worth of expenses prior to starting school. I was on a extremely strict budget. Of course that doesn’t work for everyone & if you have to work then absolutely do what you have to. But for the classmates that did work , it was part time.
