I made it to the last year of nursing school, now I'm in my last semester and I came here to get motivated again because it's been a struggle to pass some post quizzes.🤧 Thank you, Liz!
Thanks Liz! This honestly is how I’m feeling. Imposter syndrome has hit hard, but I’m going to get out of this rut! I’ll put this video on replay for days. You make me feel so much better. I just started nursing school about a month ago. Much love to you!
Thank you for all of your support and advice over the past couple years! Can’t believe I’m saying this but my ABSN graduation is this Saturday!! 🤩 Your tip about taking it only a couple weeks at a time is literally golden. I also have been telling people not to sweat the small things (for example, don’t spend 10 hours on little busy assignments worth 1% of your grade - learned this the hard way). Good luck to all of the current and future nursing students out there! 💕
Thank you! That’s how I feel sometimes ‘imposter syndrome” lol I’ve been working as a cna for many years now and decided to complete the prerequisites for the nursing program, but I keep feeling like I might not be smart enough. I know I have what It takes to be a nurse because I have a big heart and I love helping people. Thank you for supporting people like me that feel this way. I just keep telling my self I was smart enough to finish my prerequisites, I’m smart enough to finish nursing school! I am smart! If they did it why cant I! I just remind my self that I am enough and I am on the right path.
I definitely relate to the imposter syndrome, especially as a guy and coming from a non-science background in ministry to now a Master's Entry into Professional Nursing program, and also struggling with organization and school performance in the past and the shame and regret that comes with that, I really needed to hear that and to be reminded of all my victories that allowed me entrance into the program to give me a confidence booster. Thank you thank you thank you for what you do.
This was easily one of the best videos I have ever watched. Incredibly helpful and informative. You touch upon all of the thoughts and questions I’ve had!!
Oooh this is great timing! I start nursing school on Monday! I picked up an iPad and pencil because I loved your video on note taking. Also bought Picmonic on your advice. :) I'm looking into Lecturio and so far super impressed. I'll likely scoop that up too!
Thanks for your tips and pep-talk. I just had my orientation and start classes next week. We're the first class starting the new curriculum for the new NCLEX- Next Gen that launches April 2023.
I’m really worried about the virus mutating to a variant the vaccine doesn’t work on … it seems inevitable. Im worried I’m putting my family in danger. I’m starting Jan 2022. Thank you Liz! My inspiration is getting out of a bad relationship and making a good life for my kiddos. Great suggestions 💖💖💖 you’re amazing
Overwhelmed... terrified... filled with dread... yes, that about sums it up! But also excited beyond belief, which just makes for some fun panic attack and mood swings! I start in a week and a half. Eeeeek! and Yaaay! lol!
Thanks so much for this! I just got done taking my prerequisite classes for nursing school and Pathophysiology was one of them,(got a C and not proud of it), I questioned my whole plan of becoming a nurse and had a break down yesterday was talking to an advisor about changing a major etc even though I love helping people and becoming one is my goal I just felt like I wasn't smart enough( especially when you see how some students kill it) and this one girl told me "if you get C on those classes have a plan B cause nursing might not be for you" anyways seeing this video today kinda looked like a sign from above to keep going so thank you.
I’m going into my second semester of nursing school. The program I am in combines both med/surg and OB…BIG GULP 😳 My #1 reason for staying in: school loans 😂 my second reason: to help people. If it wasn’t for my 1st reason I would be a CNA. Thanks for changing my perspective: instead of thinking how hard it is, think of how busy it is. My attitude towards grades also changed: instead of striving for an A…I’m happy to pass with a B…at this point, I’m happy to just pass 😂
Do you have a video on how to answer NCLEX style questions with examples? I start in January and my RN program told me to start researching how to answer NCLEX style questions. I can't really seem to find any good videos on RU-vid.
I don't, and but I wouldn't worry about it. Once you're in school, if you get a learning platform that supplements your education and has a questions bank, like lecturio (www.lecturio.com/nursing/? use my code NURSELIZ) , that would be a much more effective way to learn/practice than RU-vid videos.
LIZZZ this was amazing. Absolutely love everything you said. Sending this to my whole cohort, as we are a,lol about to go into our second semester of our masters entry program. ❤️
Get ready. I have a MSA as well. I’m attending a community college and had to let go of my ego in some classes because some instructors talk down to students
I know someone with a BS in biology who has done very well in our accelerated program!! You will have a strong science background to help you with the Pathophysiology you will learn in nursing school. You can do this! Good luck 🍀
Hey Liz, I finished my first year of BScN school with a 4.2 GPA and I'm taking a year out for personal reasons. I've been thinking about studying independently during my "gap year" cuz I'm a pretty independent learner anyway and I thought I might as well get ahead.... do you think Lecturio would be a good idea for a self-directed learner during a gap year? Or would you recommend me to get it once I re-enroll back in BScN School
