Omg I was today years old when I found out Safflower seed is for birds. In my country ( Ethiopia) we call it suf and it’s usually eaten during fasting season. The seeds are boiled and refrigerated overnight then you put it in the blender and strain this milky liquid. One you have the liquid you can add injera ( Ethiopian bread ) fresh red onion, garlic, jalapeño and tomato ( all fresh no pickled stuff) and eat it when you break a fast!! It’s tasty and very healthy.

Now, something I've been brought to attention of and/or thinking more about lately is the situation of making things too easy. For example, this seed being higher in fat and oil and easier to break open, if we start offering too much of the Golden Safflower, initially it may seem like it's making it better, but what happens if those long term effects lead to birds losing some of their better qualities, like stronger beaks, for opening shells and such, because of what similarly happened to the Roman Empire, and subsequently lead to its fall, where things became too easy and laid back, and then complacency leads to growing weaker rather than progressing? Okay, yes, maybe this is way too heady or excessively overthinking, but I'm just considering the super long term and not wanting to contribute to a decline in bird heartiness, in the attempt to rid ourselves of such nuisance birds/pests. Granted, that means I'm now coming off somewhat hypocritical, as what lead me here in the first place was trying to find something to discourage Starlings aside from just popping them off, (legal control) but I also now wonder if I'll just have to deal with them, as I still should offer other seeds too and not switch over to just one catch-all seed, as it could potentially have lasting effects down the road, as mentioned above in this comment.

Would it take long for the birds to like the nutrasaff seed cylinder? And do the birds like the no-mess cylinders pretty good as well? I have the cranberry cylinder right now.

Typically any new food offered would take a bit of an adjustment. If you already offer straight safflower it wouldn't take long. I put some of my NutraSaff on feeders that already had safflower and the switch was instant. Birds love the No-Mess Cylinders and the Cranberry I would say almost equally. Either is a great choice! If you haven't tried offering one with bugs yet give it a go either Bug, Nut and Berry or Nesting SuperBlend- birds love em!

What is your birds favorite seed cylinder of all the different one. My birds like my seed cylinder but, but seem to prefer the loose seeds a little more, but they still eat it. I just started ordering from WBU and want to know your observations.

They seem to eat any of the cylinders with dried mealworms the fastest so Bug, Nut and Berry and Nesting SuperBlend. Cranberry is also a tried and true crowd pleaser!

Since we moved our content over there we have not been responding to comments on our older videos as frequently. That's a good question. A hungry deer would probably eat anything but I suspect it wouldn't be their preferred food. Hot pepper infused seeds would be a better option for deterring deer or handing a feeder out of reach (14' or higher).

They will eat it but its not one they favour. We've not had much feedback from customers that it attracts them.

Since we moved our content over there we have not been responding to comments on our older videos as frequently. Hmmm well there are other solutions it all depends what your objectives are. If your a fan of blackbirds visiting then it's probably not the right product for you. If you want to deter them then nutrasaff would help save the cost of the food they consume (typically a lot very quickly)! It really depends what you want to offer in your yard.
