Nutritionist in India has a very great career. The scope of Nutritionists is high in demand thanks to the lifestyle of people. Also, the females are getting too much aware of their health, they are nowadays looking for a sustainable healthy nutritious diet for themselves. Here the role of nutritionists becomes important.
Often people get confused between Nutritionists and dietitians but there is a BIG difference between them.
A dietitian works in hospitals and clinical environments and advises food charts to the patients to help them recover fast. To become a Dietitian one has to pass the registered dietitian exam. Registered dietitians are the most authorized persons to prescribe a diet.
Whereas a Nutritionist works as a counsellor and works with healthy people to improve their lifestyles.
So we can say every Dietitian is a Nutritionist but Every Nutritionist is not a Dietitian.

Mam, my 10+2 had biology chemistry physics with 65% average .i have done my graduation in science without biology and chemistry with less than 45% in average. Now am I eligible to do MSc dietetics and nutrition. Many colleges are ready to take me. Should i go for it? You are already a Nutritionist with BSc Biochemistry, but you need a regular diploma or degree to become a registered Dietician.

Hey, you have to go for masters in nutrition and dietetics if you want to go specifically for dietitian. For nutritionist, you can opt for any diploma.

If one of your graduation subjects is life sciences, you can opt for dietitian but if not, you can become nutritionist

Biotechnology students can opt for msc nutrition and dietetics, but it can't be completely a distance learning. There are a few practical classes and theory classes which you have to attend.
