Thank you for sharing such thoughtful and well researched content. As someone who has studied psychology, I so enjoyed your comparison of Freud and Jung. I’ve been looking for more content that discusses the link between tarot and psychology. There are major overlaps as your video so eloquently points out. I look forward to watching more videos in this series!

Thank you so much for this logical and well researched video! As a person who studied Philosophy and Theology as an ex-seminarian for the Catholic Church, and enthusiast for psychology; this video gave valuable information. There are specific words and terms you used in your video that would not be easy to comprehend in just one watch; although I am still impressed and learned a lot. Well done! 🌟🌟🌟

Yes I agree, this is possibly the best organized, best presented summary on the world wide web to date ~ to take it a step further, in practice, for decades now, various people have presented me with infamous cases of nonfiction accounts of serial killers. So many as to be too many to recount. And on every occasion, the conversation turns to the "answers" to be found in a synergy of these very terms: Jungian + Freudian analysis combined with archetypal language of the subconscious mind. Right now I am re-reading a book named 'The Big Book of Serial Killers', an encyclopedia of serial killers, 150 of the worlds worst murderers by Jack Rosewood and co-authors. This is a nonfiction compilation organised a bit like a traditional cookbook, with just a page or so presenting the facts per case, then a page or so in explanation of press releases. It is an account of several centuries and many countries outside of the USA. Its thought provoking, but does not offer any philosophy. ~ However: this is the most recent of dozens of such examples I have read and discussed with a variety of people ~ usually male, through the decades, of the why's and wherefores of this sort of thing. You cant really make a similar vid about serial killers and their motives, but: there are similarities. Most people start with the infamous ones from history first, not the case studies. An example that is extremely popular is Gilles de Rais, who was the bodyguard of Joan of Arc. Eventually he was also burned at the stake as she was, ostencibly for witchcraft as she was: the irony was he was 1000 times more guilty ~ in fact, he handed her over to be burned in exchange for a bounty, sort of like Judas Iscariot. He was a very glamorous figure, the richest man in La France in the 13th C. And the case was so pivotal for very important reasons: It kicked off the Papal Roman Catholic Inquisition. It was over the disputed territory of Protestant Aquitaine at the infamous end of the 100 yr war with England, during the French Crusades. So much involved in that, including the Magna Carta. And more. Based on his criminal trial records, his "reasons" were demonality, sorcery, the use of various secret grimoires, etc ~ all of which was part of the court records, astonishingly. He was in part, "sacrificing" his victims, to some demon. It leaves you wondering: how much of the psychological construction is abstract?

It was Jung who, just last year, motivated me to dust off my unexplored 30-year old Tarot deck. I appreciate having heard his voice and heeding his advice. Thank you, Ms Wen, for this edifying video~🙏

Wonderful video. Respect to Freud for what he contributed, but when comparing side by side you really can tell between Freud and Jung which one was initiated into the ancient mystical wisdom and which one was a coke and heroin addict. Memes aside though, fantastic breakdown and yours is one of the better channels on YT when it comes to mysticism and philosophy.

Great content. There is an extreme echo in the room where you’re recording, making it hard to hear some of your speech for an old man. Try lining the walls with drapes or something softer. Thank you for your presentation!

I used to dismiss Freud--I think because I was influenced by my surroundings and culture and the gross simplification of his ideas into one thing. I realize now that there is validity to both Jung and Freud's ideas and that neither of them need be mutually exclusive. I've read lots of Jung but very little of Freud, and now I'm tempted to dive in to try to understand him better. The Body Keeps the Score, a non Freud book, but definitely within the paradigm of accessing and overcoming childhood traumas proved so profound in my own life, and now watching this, it comes to mind--strangely, because this is about psychology and tarot. Haha.
