Needed to thank you for getting my interest up enough to start playing awbw, and these are a big part of why. This game is weird. Fog is terrifying, and the psych of it makes the games so wildly unpredictable.
You are a much MUCH better player than me but I do like one stealth in certain circumstances. Already have an apc, the enemy really doesn't want to have to buy a fighter (like Grit) you have a clear target you are going to kill (not infantry) ideally 2 targets, and you have a plan to immediately counter attack the fighter when it kills the stealth. Or even get it in for a priority kill or 2 and then back off. If for whatever reason it is going to crash make sure it is out of their vision
Just a baboon thought, but isnt it a good thing to spam stealths as grimm vs grit in this situation? grit has to save up a turn and build just infantry. grimm also has to save up i guess but his infantry are stronger so that would be an advantage no? if grit cant spam artillery. on top of that he has to actually see the stealths to kill them, they can just go all over the place attacking wherever, and without a power grimm's stealths have a chance to survive the attack aswell, giving them another use as blockers or something. aslong as you keep anti air near your stealths you can just kill the fighters after they attack
Deej you said the phrase wrong lol, you said The best Defense is a good Offense, it's the other way around, ESPECIALLY on grimm God, what i would pay to have myself as grimm vs a grit. Almost everything you can do is beneficial and an advantage. -Early recon is free harrassment, and even if grit have tanks it won't kill -Tank spam is helped immensely because grimm infantry can clean up wounded infantries or even 1 hp tanks -Copter spam, nuff said, Deejus already explained it a million times -Pre Emptive Anti Air can be makeshifted into a guaranteed infantry wall killer -Dabbling on multiple fronts and baiting grit to engage on all side is actually a viable atrition tactic, artillery cannot stand on its own -And if Grit does consolidate into one front, a couple of tank and infantry spam WILL take over one entire part of the map
Six Reccons ? To be fair Grim needs reccons more than others, he cannot allow any surprise attacks from fog because his units cannot take them but six is still a lot.
The whole thing is tricky, sometimes these vids happen when they are lower/only one is lower/they are higher players but play baboonly lol- may just drop the series name tbh
Man this game is a strong reminder that psychology is a unique resource in fog. Grimm was ahead almost all the time, unit count unit value and income, yet the loss of his mere 2 stealth just breaks his heart, even if the field was barren with grit's unit barely there.
Grimm had a much clearer view of the map too at the end, but the loss of the stealths + the income swing about to happen in the bottom must've hurt him way too hard in morale
A little thing I learned about this map a few months ago. Player 2’s day 3 recon can’t stop player 1 from taking the city above the lower com tower. On the other hand, player 1’s day 3 recon absolutely denies the inverse city (below the upper com tower). Slight advantage for player 1.
