It sure is and seems totally plausible too considering the warchests of the hyperscalers too. They struggle to find a home for their cash piles and being at the forefront of AI will be key. So yearly upgrades seems like a good place to put it I think.
lol isn’t like any of us can afford a 10 million dollar gpu, this keynote was just redundant. Shouldn’t have been 2 hours, mostly just yapping about AI, also why couldn’t they mention any RTX stuff. Like not even for 5 minutes could they mention RTX. People use RTX cards for a lot more things besides gaming, I was hoping they’d show the 5090, or even the 4080 refresh. I guess this was more for the investors. Seriously though, AI will eventually be more optimized to run locally on pc’s, why not show their own chat bot that runs locally, and how it interacts with programs everyone uses. They were actually supposed to cover this, but skipped it and just went on about stuff 99% of people will never use directly. I’m worried this AI stuff may end up like .com bubble.
I was there. It felt like we were witnessing and on the razors edge of a tektonic paradigm shift. All of this in a world that feels like it's on the brink. Maybe this is how it feels before evolutionary jumps. Maybe this is how the apes felt at Black Monolith.
I sold a large chunk of my Nvidia position between 600-650 after a 3X because I fell for the hype that it was due for a correction and now I’m using DCA to buy back into it. Lesson I learned is don’t sell an asset while it continues to grow. I would’ve been better off waiting for a pullback before selling a portion
Right. Never sell a winning stock. I still keep chunks of CRWD and DDOG as well as PLTR, TSM, ASML not to mention Novo and Lilly despite numerous warnings from RU-vidrs....Am I wrong?
CRWD is a $78b company right now. Let’s imagine the best couple years we can dream of. Let’s say they grow their ~$3.1b annual revenue by 30% this year and next. They’d have about 5.2b in revenue. Let’s say they somehow have a 40% margin (FCF or net income…bottom line, basically) that would be ~2b in profit. So today’s $78b price is ~40x the profit 2 years from now in a dream scenario. It’s just too much. But, if all that actually comes to pass, and CRWD doesn’t slow down at all the next 8 quarters, it would probably mean the market would give it a multiple of more than 40! That’s basically what you have to hope to own CRWD now. I just don’t think it’s a realistic scenario.
As a guy who watches all kinds of tech (and also gaming) RU-vidrs, my first reaction to all these practical demonstrations was - oh, you better not drop it, lol! (looking at you JayzTwoCents and Linus Tech tips)

How do we deal with the transfer of wealth creation from humans to AI resources. Without a level of planning that we have never seen before; it going to make the Luddites look like real amateurs. As the architects of this structural shift, the AI companies really need to give this serious thought.

I love how he talks about these GPUs like a proud father talks about his children. I mean, it really feels like he is not just "the boss" of this company, he is not there only for the money; Jensen is genuinely excited about both the marvels they accomplish at NVidia, and about how the world will be able to use their products as well.
Absolutely his passion is palpable and that's why I love him!!! All time GOAT, befriending toughest kid to avoid conflict was an early indication of the problem solving prowess he is flaunting today. Very humble man!!!
I have a very similar amount my friend and wondering if to load in more, after seeing this I'm thinking yes. The volatility will still be there but big picture surely ! Usual caveats I guess don't invest if you can't afford to lose etc... but I think demonstrably Nvidia is so far ahead of competitors both in terms of capability and research and creative adaptive innovation, and they are providing a vfm path for customers 🙏

(remember when nvdia was sold off called an overpriced gaming stock) he already knew this.. In a recent interview .. when asked what keeps driving him .. his answer .."I have nothing else to do" Hilarious!! In same interview he was talking about how he is the best at setting tables!! Omg so humble ..
Remember those pics of hard drives from de 50/60's in the back of a truck? Imagine the processing power/size 30 years from now. I think in 50 years or less we're just gonna be telling computers "do this, do that, build this, build that". Self-built/repair machines that will help us through the universe.
AI is THE big trend for the next 10-20 years - anyone with half a brain can see it. If you're reading this and don't believe me, just try some of the commercially available products like Chat GPT, Suno AI etc. Wait for Sorna to come out, then realise that token generation is at the heart of it all - and tokens are fungible. So you could have token generation for protein synthesis, killing disease, etc etc. As well as all the robotics, climate change, telecoms etc etc. The possibilities are limitless.
6 months ago I sold my only stock of 6,300 Tesla shares and I bought my only stock now 4,404 Nvidia shares. I have been very lucky only owning the best stock I could find. I think the Nvidia stock price is still way too low. Everyone who last year said Meta is now too expensive when the stock went up to $ 220 is the same morons who are also now saying Nvidia stock is too expensive to buy now. Nvidia is only in their second inning of their growth. Nobody including AMD is even close and will probably never catch up to Nvidia in our lifetime. Don't overthink it buying Nvidia stock now is a simple no brainer. Selling a share now of Nvidia to buy a different stock is like trading a pound of gold for a pound of silver even up.

@@mrjohncrumpton Last year I only owned one stock, 6,300 Tesla shares. Today I only own one stock 4,404 Nvidia shares. I am too dumb to follow a bunch of companies. You only need one stock company, the one you have the most confidence in with the best CEO leading. Buy as many shares of Nvidia you can for the next three years ,don't sell any before then and I think you will be a very happy camper. Good luck to you.
Surprised that the core / backbone is still made out of copper, I guess I could see it from a cost standpoint but limited in its bandwidth. Would’ve thought it would have been fiber-optic by now on connection points and interaction levels between the systems
