big mike yeah i was thinking that too....every mudbog i was in has a start light and you were done when stuck or you shut it down...not some tool with a flag
But if you seen the whole video, alot of the guys who were flagged and still moving had a talk with the flagger(through the window),while they were being pulled out...The show was a good show,Monster's,Tuff's and mud bog.It ran like 3hrs est...My hunch..they wanted to speed up the show.
they don't give them enough room to build speed ok seriously that flag guy sucks, some of these guys are still movin at a good clip when he shuts em down
Yeah....that's the nature of the beast with arena's.Two different promotion companies do shows there each year.Mar & Nov.Pretty nice size arena, gotta work with whatever room they have.Only thing is ,it's a 5 hr drive for me.
I have run several mud bog competitions in my modified v6 super charged 1990 Ford Ranger 4x4 , in some, not most but some there is a set limit on time for "crawl" speed runs, just as this competition had. That is why even though some were still moving at a crawl they were flagged, time expired.
preston121068 I don’t think this is one of those the guy who made the vid dosent seem to know about it and some of the drivers seem to be yelling threw there window at the flag man so if there was a timer no one knew
There type of competition is you run in length or beat the pit no crawl timer at all. Flag guy didn't have a clue what he was doing. I've have ignored a flag guy before because we had timing lights
ATTENTION TO EVERYONE NEW TO MUD CRAWLS: The orange poles mark segments of the track. There is a time limit you must pass between each pole, the flag man signals you with the flag when you are running out of time for that segment. Oh yeah btw, factory 4ply, bald mud tires worn down to slicks and all terrain tires will not do well in a mud bog so all you are doing is wasting everyone's time by spending 30 seconds getting in the mud and 4 minutes hooking up to the front end loader to be pulled out.
I don't think the guy with the flag was very fair. he stopped several of them while they were still moving forward pretty good, yet he let others creap forward forever
They made the mud to thick for most of the trucks. It would be better if it was thinner mud so there’s more of a show. Instead of going 6ft and getting hung up
that has to be the worst flag man ever, the old ford was moving good probably would have went a lot further, just slowly. they must have been the half time show for a bigger event and he was told to stop them as soon as they slowed down to speed things up.
Dude let them run. There shouldn't even be a red flag. The driver should have the option to decide when he's gone as far as he can. Other than that great vid tho.
why in the hell is the guy giving a red flag when some of them are still moving?? where I'm from you go until you can't go. there are no red flag bullshit like this.
