Rossi said these guys have big balls and he is a multi-time world Moto GP champion. He knows whats up. I respect him for that statement. These guys are the true racers. Excellent vid.
I was born and bred on the side of this course, just below the chicane on the run into Portrush. It IS the most spectacular road race anywhere in the world bar none. N.B. When Michael Rutter recorded the fastest speed he was riding with a thumb brake to keep the front wheel on the ground on the run up to University corner. The speed trap was moved just before the race where his high speed was recorded. Guys, If you get the opportunity to go over and watch this race, take it.

Having read some of the comments I would just like to clarify a couple of points made ,the speeds here are in miles per hour and the changes in position at top speed are due to slipstreaming as much as outright power, the slipstreaming or drafting is fairly unique to this type of racing as most short circuits don't have long enough stretches for this to be as evident. Roads are closing this year for final practice from 9:15am to 2:45pm then closed for racing from 5:15pm to 9pm on Thursday 14/5/15 , then roads are closed again for racing from 9:30am to 7pm on Saturday 16/5/15. I would like to wish all the riders safe and enjoyable racing and as a local fan welcome all the international supporters making the effort to get here ,you will not be disappointed, see you there! I have the GSXR 1000 k8 road bike and it is genuinley frightening when you open it up (190 bhp !). These guys are gods to wring the necks of these superbikes the way they do !
watching the TAS bikes they seem really quick up the top end as Anstey was flying past other guys on the long straight, didnt seem to have the acceleration out of the corners though. These guys must have a hell of lot of trust with each other to be passing each other so close at those speeds. Bruce also must have been the most unlucky guy at the TT this year, hopefully he will back on the top of the podium in 2010, great rider
Balls the size of water melons - excellent clip, 200 or 192 MPH what is the difference folks they are on public roads. Rossi could not live with these guys on the street, then again these guys would not be able to live with Rossi on a track. Stay fast and safe folks.
I know for a fact these guys do close to and sometimes over 200 MPH as i have witnessed this for myself. The following article is taking from the BBC's NW200 website..... Michael Rutter returned in 2004 and, on lap four of the second Superbike race, he went through the speed trap between Station Corner and the university at 201.1MPH. Rutters feat was the first time that the 200 MPH mark had been recorded on the official speed trap. A simple sorry will be enough thanks sputnik .

Stuart Easton, The Flying Scotsman, went straight out of the pits in the Superbike practice and posted 204mph through the speed trap on his Swann Honda Fireblade ! Unofficially this is a new triangle record ! Michael Rutter's crown has gone.... Wish they had got that on camera.
@rens2007 Confusing for you perhaps. Britain and the USA measure speeds in MPH. The North West 200 is in Ireland. These bikes are not stock. These bikes would be 3 or 4 seconds slower than a MotoGp bike but are still very very fast. Michael Rutter became the first rider to record a top speed in excess of 200 mph (320 km/h) on the course. During practice at the 2010 event Stuart Easton set a new fastest speed trap time, touching 204 mph (328 km/h). The lap record av speed is 124 mph +. (Wiki)
@thegaffer1 I just enjoy road racing. I have over 50 DVDs featuring Isle Of Man, North West 200 and Macau road races. It is very easy to post accurate information. Just 10 minutes posting my comments hardly constitutes too much time on my hands. Then I guess I expect too much from RU-vid contributors such as accurate title descriptions. Despite this, the video is good, thanks for posting.
@g3seifert No never hit a white line in a lean, only lean on the corners I know have either no white lines or manhole covers or grids. The TT circuit, not sure about the nw200 circuit has anti-skid paint on the white lines and is designed to be raced on and used all year round when there is no racing.

@rens2007 A stock GSXR 1000 is capable of 0-60 mph in 2.6 seconds and 0 - 100 mph in 6 seconds in the hands of an expert rider. These modified Super-bikes would be several tenths quicker. I am guessing you have never ridden a production Super-bike such as a GSXR 1000, YamahaR1, ZX-0R, Fireblade 1000 or BMW 1000RR. They are blindingly quick. All are capable of sub 10 second 1/4 mile times and 180 mph + top speeds. Unrestricted they have exceeded 186 mph and these modded bikes have reached 204 mph
@droceretik My point is that 309 kph is not near 324 kph. Already knew what? That 309 kph is 191 mph and is not near 200 mph but is very near to 190 mph? However to make a good title I will round it up to 200 mph because it looks better?
@sputnik790 100mph in 1st is a commun thing for 1000cc guy..zx-10r reaches 180km/h...bike acceleration is unbelievable..even if there is èpractically no bike reachin over 300km/h..even if speedos mark 330-340...and people believe in them..
@droceretik Check the word before 200mph in the title... NEAR 200Mph it says. 309KMH is the actual top speed he achieves on this run. So the answer to your question is no i didn't bother to check as i already knew...lloll.
This is not a production bike. It`ll cost you £100000, they are geared for top speed so on circuits like this and the TT it will be geared for 100+ mph....Hope this helps
Why the hell did they put the telemetry at the bottom left corner? For me, it ruins the entire feel of the video. The top right corner is already obscured by the fairing, which would have been a much more logical place to put it...
Go Bruce another kiwi doing the shit , But i still get a dangerous driving ticket and speeding pulling a lame ase 3rd gear wheelie at 30 mph 2 weeks ago. i try too explain i am not driving but riding and i would have bought the wheel down in 4th gear the officer did not except the fact that Motards tend lift in second gear , and went on too explain the dangers Blah blah blah .
