One of the underrated players…so cool on the ball and the way he drags the ball and his dummies are so cool…I remember my cousin writing his name on the back of my shirt..coz they always call me young Kanu, every young Nigerian kids named themselves Kanu back them…we all love him and his still looking very young …
There was once a time when Arsenal had Dennis Bergkamp, Thierry Henry, Davor Suker, Marc Overmars, Nwankwo Kanu, Patrick Vieira, Freddie Ljungberg all in the squad at the same time, That was just incredible.
Those were the good old days. Now fans these days big up Saka and ESR like the greatest thing since slice bread. We need ballers at this club again. Players that can make something out of nothing in big games. We need that consistent free flowing football with quality players. No disrespect to the current group but they are not world class players like those names you mentioned.
@@ejiro241 no one ever expected an average squad age of 24 to produce magic moments. You don’t need to drag something down a little in order to praise something else. Just appreciate the original comment
@@vtsv27 No one expected it because the club refuse to set an expectation. That took the pressure off them a bit. I am not dragging the current team down. I am indirectly refering to fans that get carried away so so easily especially when we win. They overrate our players a lot when we win. And also i want my club to win the league again. Which is why those players in this comment meant a lot in my younger years. Those were ballers and i want players of that calibre at Arsenal again. I'm tired of the way this club keeps shifting the post. It was from "trust the process" to now "project youth". What will be next? If only some folks can see the bigger picture here.
I love Nigerians so much. Oh, and how I love Kanu. It's always great to see African brothers represent the club I love and support. Kan-u believe it ❤️
I remember this so well. Back in the olden days before internet I had just arrived in Majorca and asked a barman the Arsenal score. He said Chelsea were 2 nil up and Kanu came on and scored a hat-trick and Arsenal won 2-3 great memories
We always had Kanu or Bergkamp supporting Pires and Henry, those were insanely technical players, they were big and unusually fast for big players, people assume Bergkamp was little, he was a big man too. They provided those line breaking last balls
Some people here said Kanu made them an arsenal fans, no wonder....but Dennis Bergkamp is my inspiration and made me become arsenal fans....but I believe, no one would become new arsenal fans nowadays....😭
As we remember great players like Kanu, it was Arsene Wenger's habit to believe in African players. E. Adebayor, Kolo Traore, A. Song etc. Now that we have lost Aubameyang it would be great to have boosted squad with experienced players like Sarr the Watford guy, Moise Kean who Juventus want to offload or even Traore the Burkina Faso guy. Even Mane looked average when he played for Southampton but its amazing what a player can turn out to be if given the chance. The current players are very good but may lack depth & experience to push for top 4 finish which seems realistic considering Arsenal's fixtures this season.
