I really enjoyed this episode of the podcast. Love the way you two interact with each other.. it is a very good dynamic that adds a great deal to the podcast. Thank you both for the knowledge and experience you share with us all. Also love how you both reiterated the ability to adapt to what works for us, and ability to always be open to things being done in ways that work for all of us. I think a lot of us that come from Abrahamic backgrounds were overwhelmed with the rigidity of ritual. Thanks again!

I follow the luni-solar calendar, but I understand doing monthly things on the same week when it's a group. It's just me so I can do that.

As a Swede, I did a double take when I heard "Kanelbullar". So unexpected. As far as americans go, your pronunciation was not bad.

The first half of your year reflects mine quite closely. Really interesting, thanks for sharing. I’m definitely with you on celebrating more often than the three major attested heathen holidays 🎉 Regarding The Charming of the Plough, I think it’s linked to the Metrical Charms in the 10thC / 11thC Lacnugna (The Old English Poetry Project has some really great translations of those charms / poems / rituals.) I personally think the æcrblot is most definitely not Christian alone, as they honour Ycre too and it just ‘feels’ Heathen to me when I read the complicated ritual recorded there. IYKWIM? Just my own UPG 😊 In my little neck of the woods (Norfolk, UK) we also have a folk custom at the same time of year - Plough Monday where a decorated plough was pulled through the village and if you didn’t donate you ran the risk of getting the plough ran through your garden 😂 Sadly it really declined post industrialisation but there are lots of great people reviving it and it’s happened more and more in the last 20 years or so. 😊 We do Ēostre (rather than Ostara) as there’s a school of thought that she was a localised goddess worshipped by the Anglo-Saxons from my part of the UK, so it makes sense for me to venerate a goddess of the lands where I live. Thanks for keeping me company while I work 👍

Thank you for watching and for the information. I will look into all that you have mentioned. They are all likely related somewhere in history.

Is the Havamal translation you mentioned publicly available?

I don't believe that it is available anymore. Although it is in the back of his book "Germanic Heathenry, a practical guide" which you can still find sometimes. But it only has the first 137 stanzas....I dont know why he didn't put the rest of the poems in this book.
