Listening to Podcast #30, the AA Althing was mentioned where the prison ministries were invited. That would not happen to be Althing 18 (in 1998) was it. Your reason for leaving was similar to a blow up that happened then in AZ for me when I left the AA functions. I had family there as well.

It's nice to see the perspective of The Iron Ravens and their perspective. So I took up being a DRGL and and current Goði of a small hearth of Norse Pagans in a deployed enviroment. My mentor did make a good start and it was not seamless, but I have taken then reigns. The good part is we run two services a week and here soon we are doing other projects on the base in the next two months. What I am least looking forward to is trying to hand off this hearth to another person when I leave. What makes my particular hearth interesting is that we instinctually removed rank once we formed our circles. We have senior NCOs, Junior NCOs, Officers, and Specialists all in the same place and we just speak as equals. It's refreshing for me as a Junior NCO to be able to have that connection and not let rank be an obstacle. Touching up on Security physically it is fine, but we have had to weed out folks sometimes due to their nonincluaiveness but it is so rare in a Military setting.

I really wish we had the ability to more to support the DRGL's and other military kindreds. They seem to be a simple afterthought to most of the larger organizations, and we are unfortunatly way to small to do much more than we already do. Our time is comming though. When we grow this channel, we can grow our outreach right along with it.

@northwoodskindred I do forsee a lot of nice changes for Norse Pagans and Pagans in general being able to do more inclusive changes in the organizations. I think expanding more on the Learn as You Goði series, but once you arrange the other aspects with the AMH, expand more on other aspects of a DRGL. I have a lot to learn from all three of you and would love to pick your brains in the future.

We’re doing a special fire tonight for the harvest queen. If you will the harvest blessing spirit of our land, we take the dead brush, the bits of branches that I’ve fallen and make a giant doll if you will, and it’s out of all kinds of wrappings of plant matter around her property and make it into shape of a woman last year we made one life-size so it’s about 6 feet taller bigger and put it on a pole and going to have a bonfire tonight for the blessings of the land the elements Gods and it’s been really amazing. First time we did it. We had the most amazing Harvest that year in a small lot in Minneapolis, Minnesota 🍅

I’ve been watching you guys for a long time I was wondering what’s your favorite ritual or what ritual would you do the most that you find most effective to connect with the gods do you have a video or a link?

Definately group blót, we do a lot of rituals including blót's for a lot of different reasons but the small ones we do just as a kindred are always the most meaningful.
