I have 4 ghost cars sitting on my block for 16 months. 311 calling does nothing

So if u steal under 1k from a small/private business you get let go no punishment no bail. If you evade a 8$ toll from the government you get charged with a crime and your vehicle seized

It’s about time. A tag was stolen from me here in Florida and used to run 100’s of tolls in New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania. Tag was expired for 3 years and was inside of a car in storage. I get all of the fines. I have police reports and have provided all of the tolling agencies with proof that it cannot be me. The criminals don’t even care that the tags have been expired for years.

The flipping of the license plate is something that I would see as a child looking at television. It's like one of those things that James Bond would have on his vehicle. 007 😂😂

I love when our taxes are used to fund operations such as finding ghost cars ! This should be a monthly thing to insure that people are following the law ! Next operation should be to crack down on MTA fare beaters , I feel like I’m the only sucker to pay for my bus/train fare while everyone one else just disregards paying and getting on for free

If the city would just lower the price of the tolls,this wouldn't be happening. The people are getting sick and tired of high prices tolls that they have no other choice but to ghost their plate. Can't blame them. Most of this people don't make good money.

Put some resources into collecting back taxes owed to the city and state. That would solve some problems, and you wouldn’t have to harass the little guys.

Say what you want to say, but aside from the fines imposed on ghost cars, it's a lot worse if you get hit by one of these cars with fake or missing plates and they leave the scene of the accident without stopping, so in a way I applaud Adams and Hochul for cracking down on this

On the one hand, one cannot help having utter disdain for these vehicles and their owners. On the other hand, given the red light cameras, speed traps, congestion pricing, illicit tolls, and other greed schemes on the part of city and municipal government, one cannot blame people for evading these corrupt government behaviors by removing their plates and ghosting their vehicles.
