CFB25 ult team mode is ruined cuz of this it used to be good but now i solely play dynasty. I only played ult to play online cuz i have complete customization of my team but now? Maaan ill stay off line
@@StayInYourPlace PC Gamers may spend a lot but Micro Transactions came from mobile games, mobile game players spend more than PC and console games combined on micro transactions. All those Candy crush levels , skip Ad packs , or new character drops from Raid: Shadow Legends ? That's where the crazy money in gaming is . Candy Crush Saga alone has made more than 12 billion dollars in revenue since its launch and that's just one mobile game.
@2KCustomerService yes, but people read about the scam practises. public criticism when it comes to gambling is not great when you try to sell a game 😂
Lmao 100 rating for a 1-year experienced Wemby and a ring-chasing KD.... NBA 2K has jumped the shark. Still playing NBA 2K20 + 2023-24 roster mod = 2K24 can go pound sand.
@@2KRec it's been about 6 years since 2k put loot boxes , and people were complaining and even governments stepped in , but guess what people still bought it and spent money in record numbers
@Rballerz I agree. But it seems like there are some that are tired of the routine now. Buy like you said there are still some that will still pre-order even though they haven't seen any gameplay
Man I gave up 2k back in 2k21.... when I KEPT BUYING VC PACKS, LOOKIKG BACK AT MY BABY MOMMA GETTING SAD IM SPENDING SO MUCH MONEY ON A VIDEO GAME😢😢😢 ME TELLING HER "BABY JUST ONE MORE PURCHASE, IM ALMOST A 90 OVERALL"... THOSE WERE SAD TIMES THAT ILL NEVER GO BACK TO.... WORST PART IS THAT YOU DONT GET ANYTHING ON NEXT YEARS GAME FOR THE MONEY U SPENT
This gave me hope for society.. The fact this company takes advantage of kids like this is sickening bro… Irresponsible adults CHOOSE to be this dmb, but it’s the fact that these companies are grooming KIDS into thinking it’s normal to spend this amount of money to play a video game that’s borderline criminal.. I think the nail in the coffin for this company is gonna be GRAND THEFT AUTO 6.. Yeah it’s gonna sell well on release but I got a strong feeling the micro transactions and pay to win in it are gonna be the worst we’ve ever seen.💯
i have no doubt the graphics and story mode will be amazing, the map and features too, but i already know gta online is gonna be even worse on players wallets. they grew money on trees with gta online in gta 5. i know in the investor meeting they told them they want growth in more micro transactions which aren’t even micro at this point😂
if adults are willingly spending their own money within the game then you can't really blame 2k for that. Microtransactions aren't a necessary, it's optional. The parents need to be parents and monitor their kids.
@@IllMatic97the problem isn’t letting adults gamble either but now it’s at the point that you cannot get the same cards at all that ppl who buy with money can. That’s just unfair and ruins a mode that ppl love grinding and getting their favorite players. 2k is just overwhelmed with greed and you have to spend for a CHANCE to get a player and not get who u actually want
@@swishdjrmy gta 5 experience was only fun on 360 ( after a money lobby lol) but no money spent online is so jank never any way to get the money without buying or a good mission u can run hella times
@@IllMatic97why do parents need to monitor their kids? If their kids earn something and they want vc for their gift why does that bother you? You just upset you can’t afford to spend. Quit if you don’t like it. I did! That’s the only way it’s gonna change 😊
Yup. But u gotta treat it as if they are playing on ur intelligence and offending u to stop. Thats what i did. I got mad and stopped cuz i cant casually play without spending money.
@@gravediggassI’m telling these folks like bruh, kids literally don’t have money, parents permission is required every single time, adults the ones dropping 200 a player bc they can “get it back” off the next check
What if I told you the the women 2k game is on a mode only they stuck in pergutory and have been there for years. Noone is even saying anything about that
Even if they do you can imagine they'll have plenty of the same Bs with the micro transactions look at any other EA sports game. This comes down to the people if we band together and start boycotting the same bs every year they will make something different, happened to COD, Assassin's Creed just to name a couple when sales dropped they changed the game
Same I deleted it to play CFB25 and I’m not getting 2k25. I grew too old for this childish shit, there should be no game that forces you to pay to play or basically be a slave and play for a month or 2 straight to max out your player
Right. It’s impossible to score consistently in 2k24 if you don’t purchase boosts. They really taking advantage of consumers. I think that no one should buy the game anymore. It’s disgusting.
It's literally for streamers and people who make money off of 2k. Investing money in it to make yourself money online. Otherwise you're better off buying it to play 5 on 5 with your bros.
This is what happens when a monopoly takes over without any contenders, it’s always bad for the consumer. If I had the time, I’d start a kickstarter and find the OGs of EA Big to make another NBA Street like NBA Street Vol 2
The amount of times I paid for the same tattoos man. Not only is the vc situation ridiculous, 2k stay making new games with the same content and charging you again and again and again
Moved onto NCAA25 and have been having way more enjoyment. My overall gaming experience is based on me and not the quality of players I get in random rec. I don’t have to commit to at least a 30 minute gameplay and even more if you want to progress toward “legend”. The lack of micro transactions in NCAA brings a sense of relief. I’m okay with companies trying to make money. 2k has forced people into a lower quality overall experience. It just feels predatory now while playing, and the fact it’s at minimum $300 to have fun for a year. It’s crazy
I don't think u realize how bad it actually is. Streamers have ruined myteam. 2k got rid of the player market this year. EVERY SINGLE card acquired is a predetermined chance at the card being advertised. Chances start at 0% Highest is 3%.2k was dropping packs every week. STREAMERS do $1-2million vc pack openings. But they HAVE to. Cause that's the ONLY way to show your audience the best cards. They ARE the ones liking and subscribing. So u spend RU-vid money to show off in-game purchases. This year I played myteam till the end of season 6. I grinded every day after work. Spent $ every week for additional mt/vc for packs. I NEVER got a card I wanted. Not ONCE. 2k24 definitely opened my eyes. I'll NEVER spend that type of money on 2k again. Definitely not gonna pre-order and NEVER paying $100 again for the game
I play WWE 2K24 and I was grinding over 70k in points to buy certain cards in packs, and I never got the cards that were supposed to be in said pack. Worse they keep putting the same low level cards in the new pack to decrease your chances of getting good cards.
@@darksideonI deadass warned all the marks about this bc they were already doing it over here with the NBA lol. But ofc yk wrestling fans are just as equal of dickriders as NBA 2K fans lol
After 25 years of 2K experience I’m officially done with 2K. I’ve seen this game in every phase and I know it won’t get any better. You’ll still have ppl out there who live on their knees for 2k. Them same ppl will validate any and everything 2k does. They keep Mike Wang and Ronnie 2K lights on 😂😂
You put your foot down. That shows growth bro. It's only right to support a company you love. But heres the thing. I dont love take two/2k no more. the boycott is in full effect.
This article is for those who know nothing about gaming or know very little those of us in the know been knew this. I'd hope this would change to at the least the point of giving more for the money we pay. Cosmetics should be cheap not as wild as the prices get
Bro say it again! All the major name brand clothes are 10k+ vc! I spend 40k vc on an outfit all the time. Literally the price of a real t shirt (8.99 for 35k VC) it’s ridiculous! They should atleast let us keep the clothes we BOUGHT!
the last 2k i bought was 2k17 and i played 2k24 cause it was on game pass idk how do ppl buy 2k every year like stuff barely changed now im just enjoying different games instead
Yes, I'm still gonna buy NBA 2k because I don't spend money within the game. The game has more to offer than my career and park but thats the only thing y'all play, here's a tip either don't buy the game or play the game as it was intended to be, a basketball sim. Y'all be acting like you don't have choices, I'm not gonna stop playing NBA 2k just because certain people don't understand the concept of common sense. Nobody is forcing y'all to ante up the loot, so don't.
@IllMatic97 I stopped playing Mycareer. I only enjoy the Franchise mode, but I'm not gonna pay $70, I can literally wait for it to go on sale when it receives most of the patches and updated rosters and ratings.
I never pay full price for games now. Just wait for sale. I also don't buy battle/season passes unless I make it to the max level and realllyyyy want the rewards.
I’m not purchasing anything from 2k until it’s on sale and I’m only playing PlayNow and Franchise Mode until I have enough VC for a build. I love basketball but 2k doesn’t deserve my money.
They still gon get your $70 for the base game roster update lmao. You think you hurting them by still buying the game? You are lost in the sauce buddy.
Sad part about this is even with this information ppl will still overlook, fall victim and then still spend money. The devs CEO CFO doesn't care about the community, we built them billionaires and they show us year after year how much they honestly don't care.
if they keep offering what constantly gets bought, thats actually what we call CARING. face the damn fact that the problem is the consumer! what is it exactly they dont care about ? an every individual's moral/opinion/feelings? they are not reading every string of text about them on the internet ...they are reading numerical values on their bank account. thats the only feedback that makes actual sense to a business. those numbers...that is truth; that is accurate information; that isnt a trollpost; that isnt fakenews; nor a bot; nor a meme; nor a shitpost; nor a reviewbomb; nor anything else other than hard factual evident numbers...! the yap yap yap wont do a thing! its all just chirping birds. literally. not that they choose to see it that way, it just IS. how are they even supposed to seperate the ones complaining BUT STILL PAYING vs those complaining and not being supportive !??! they're gonna roll with the bank numbers for A L L the reasons.
@@kosmique all your saying is that we as the consumers are the problem? You sound foolish you're saying we as individuals don't make up the community? AS INDIVIDUALS? BRUV go have several seats my boy buying what's being offered is caring? So if I sell you horseshit disguised as chicken because you was hungry that means I care about you? Goofy🤨.. You are part of the problem ideologies such as yours smh bank accounts that WE as individuals put our money into theirs in hopes that in good faith they'd deliver. Why can COD deliver GTA always on point we been playing the same cods and GTA for years but a game that they put out every year know the ways to damn near perfect it but still low ball us.
I stopped playing 24 after they deleted my build safe to say i went back to 2K23 i see more people on there thsn 24.... The micro transactions is to damn expensive... I'm glad 2K got called out for their bs
From a business perspective you have to understand there is 0 incentive to change unless there is a massive influx of people that stop playing and spending money, that’s the ONLY way something happens
Spider-man is a perfect example of making a great game without any micro transactions. There’s no reason why games can’t minimize the micro transactions.
So you telling me the gaming community can give 4 billion but can’t invest into a new company that community driven or put together funds and hire a company
They didn’t even mention that the “free agent card” mind you this card is only for like 5 games then it disappears in a games is only obtainable once and never updated through the seasons
I've noticed all of this years ago that's why I don't even play online competitively on 2k anymore. My step kids, during the pandemic when there was no school constantly wanting skins for fortnite and I would notice how VBucks cost so much but a skin is offset by that price which in turn makes you forget to realize how much you're actually spending. And then the explosions and lights it's just like walking into a casino, your eyes are wide You're adrenaline's pumping and your inner want is on fire. They know it and they knew that it was just dopamine for us... It's all by design.
It's time for PEGI to step up. That's the only solutions. There's no way that 2K can be labeled a PEGI 3 game. Making 2K a PEGI 16 or 18 would massively impact them.
Gon have to see when the game comes out. if almost half the fans don't buy 2k25 and stay on 2k24 then 2k will understand when they loose a lot revenue all this talk not doing it unless yall actually boycott. but not for a year but for the next 2 years
MY MAJOR PROBLEM IS THAT...WHAT NBA PLAYER IS COMING IN THE LEAGUE AT A 60 OVERALL😵💫🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️ ITS MY PLAYER, THEY BRAG ON THE CHARACTER THE WHOLE BEGINNING OF THE GAME, JUST FOR YOU TO BE A 60 OVR... THATS WEIRD TBH... A FEW 2K'S AGO, LIKE ON 2K17, THEY LET YOU WORK ON YOUR CHARACTER WITHOUT VC USE...YOUD BE ABLE TO AT LEAST BE A LIL COMPETITION, NOWADAYS YOUR A 60 OVERALL IN THE TOP 3 DRAFT CLASS 😂😂😂 ...MAN I HATE 2K
2K In my opinion has turned into the streets 😂 if you can’t bag it up and sell it “Content creator’s” there’s no real incentive for you playing the game
2K24 was the fastest uninstall for me since 2k18. Played it for few weeks and was done. I’m also done supporting this game. I would buy any other developers game if they could get NBA rights.
2k knows most in this community doesn’t read soooo…. They’re definitely not worried about The New York Times, Washington Post, United Nations Chronicles
I stopped buying 2k two years ago. I’ve played “free” on gamepass and it feels like playing a mobile game with ads and non stop buy me tactics every time I would get on. It’s sad because I love basketball, playing with updated rosters, and the community. I wish these tactics could be a thing of the past. However, I doubt these tactics stop.
How is that any different from the almost $6 a gallon gas I spend at the gas station to fill up my car to go to work? How is it any different from the $250 grocery bill at the store when I don't even get that much food for that money? A can of McCafe coffee at Ralph's was $18 when I went a month or two back. I have to buy it off Amazon now that ish is so crazy. It's happening everywhere, and wages are not "going up" to match these ridiculous increases in everything. Fugg inflation, this ish is highway robbery across the board....
Microtransactions have really ruined a lot of good games. Companies used to care about how good there games were, now all they care about is keeping the share holders happy by bringing in as much 💰 as possible through microtransactions.. So called F2P games ruined "microtransactions" by pricing them so high its predatory.
YOU DO KNOW THE FOLKS OVER AT 2K. AREN'T FORCING ANYONE TO BUY THEIR GAME CORRECT ..... SEE I LOVED MADDEN BUT ITS TERRIBLE NOW SO I JUST STOPPED PLAYING BIT... SEE ITS. SIMPLE IF YOU DON'T LIKE IT DON'T BUY IT .. MOVING ON
I've never spent money on a microtransaction in 2k in my life. all I want is a good franchise mode and fluid gameplay. they deliver neither. havent bought the game in 4 years
People have to realise it’s only 5-10% of the total players that are crying and saying “i won’t buy 2K”. If those 5-10% players leave the other 90% will still keep making 2K money 😂
5-10%? you buying this shit next year bruh😭😭 go ahead and spend 70 for the game. 100 to upgrade yo player. and extra 20-50 for some drip. oooop. you dont like your build? time to drop another 50? you like that cycle and think the other 90% does?? you crazy lol.
@@Gsynce thats the problem. its basically not. i dont have the time to grind my player in this game. its not rewarding. they force us to buy VC. you know how long it takes to grind a No Money Spent player?
@@Gsynce and you may not cry about it but i guarantee you that you aren’t satisfied after. there is still that gut feeling of regret. How many builds you got? How much money did you spend on 24?
this is why I buy the game a year later and get it for around 15-30 dollars on sale. I rather grind my career than give 2k another dollar more. Finally the media is doing something worthwhile.
As a huge Madden player ( not by choice) I refuse to pay for player cards MUT packs or anything. They don't update any parts of the game. Franchise mode has remained unchanged for years. I played online once and got DEMOLISHED because the other person had 99 players IN EVERY POSITION. I haven't touched it since, it hurts sports game.
I've been gaming since the Intellivision; currently have 3 PS5s and other gaming consoles, gaming rigs and gaming laptops; These CEOs and Gaming companies wicked monetization tactics have turned me off of games. I now wait to see how a game is released before I purchase. I miss the days when gaming companies made a full game and wanted to see it's consumers enjoy and play each other, tournaments, arcade competitions, oh what fun those days were.
How bout a fantasy draft mode? Online fantasy draft and compete in a playoff tournaments. How bout an online 3v3 mode where u play as nba players, you could grind to unlock legends. 2 game modes that i would be thrilled to see.
With people complaining that they have to buy the $70 dollar game AND spend money in the game to compete, they're just gonna end up turning the entire game into a subscription model in the next couple of years... Make the game a $10 a month subscription or something like that and keep the microtransactions FLOWING
What up city you said this a few weeks ago that 2k greed is going to be there down there fall now it's all coming into the light glad that these news articles are showing how they are taking advantage of there consumers big shout out to you for spreading the truth on how 2k really is once was a fabulous great game is now a big money grab salute to you brother
The issue is the hard earned part of gaming is now 4 seasons behind what they are pushing to buy now. I do miss the days you could unlock everything but im also understanding business. This is that THIS IS A GOT DAM SHAKEDOWN.
I remember when Madden started going to shit, a decade ago, and we all said "well, at least we have 2K". Shame how they regressed to such a god awful state year after year. MUT and MyTeam have absolutely ruined these games. No innovation to gameplay, just sitting on moronic players spending hundreds of dollars each year. Same exact thing Madden does.
These same articles came out last year about 24. 2K content creators still buy and spend money on the game, which drives engagement - since everyone wants to stream. 2K will change nothing until the customer base makes them feel it in their bottom line.
Tbh … everybody complained for updates to fit them. So they update the game so much your MyPlayer build gets patched so you want a new build and then you finally figure out how to build a better build so you build a better build and repeat onto next year … MyCity should just be like Warzone free download and the rest of the game you buy every year.
I used to love 2K. I’m definitely one of the ogs that came from Dreamcast and enjoyed the evolution up until probably 2k20. I’m only playing it now because it’s free with PlayStation plus
I realized I bought 2K24 10 times just based on how much VC I bought for different builds and I’ll never let them get me again. I want to play 2K and enjoy the game but this is gross.
Facts. They definitely use the same tactics as casinos. I was playing 2K recently and the first thing I thought when I got into MT was children should not be allowed to play this. It’s training them into gambling.
These type of articles come out every year before release. Yet yall still buy the game and feed into their corporate greed. Can we actually start a boycott for real??
Honestly bro, I’ve been gone for 6 seasons. 2k18 was the straw that broke the camels back. Seeing this franchise implode the way it has from a standpoint of monetization has been ugly to see. I’m a hooper and hoop fan but I’m done.
2k was a day one purchase for me for a decade. 2k18 was my last. i was so sick of the “micros” killing everything, as well as the grind they introduced to try to railroad you into the micros. in the weeks before 2k21 i decided to give them one more shot. i went back to 2k18 to build some hype. i discovered that they had turned the servers off, so i no longer had access to my offline, solo career mode?! i was done. haven’t even downloaded it on gamepass since.
and you have people like me that don't care about online and just play myplayer for myself never interacting with anyone else or needing to. Im just glad next gen is gonna be on pc finally
NFTs are worth more than these cards. These transactions are NOT optional. VC is so lucrative if not buying it. 1,000+ for every game you play in MyCareer. That’s 82k+ that either goes to fake clothes in the game or skills. As a person who has played MLB The show, FIFA, NBA 2k it’s out of control.
The NY Times is a big blog and its good they ripped them up because this has been a problem for YEARS. Things need to change. Hopefully coverage from a top source can get 2k moving lol.
NBA 2K is one of the only games I refuse to play online. I play my career and I don't spend a dime to make my player better. I just grind it out over the season and get better organically, the same way I do with any other game that you have to play to upgrade your character.
2Ks been hiding their true intentions this whole time, using the city as one huge pool for advertising for different brands so they can make more money. I'm tired of the city, it doesn't even feel like a next gen game, its clunky as hell. I just wanna ball with one my player again, tired of being forced to use limited mps. The greed ruined the game and i don't think we can do anything to stop it because the money is coming in from other companies now.
I stopped playing 2k after 2k17. Even though i never bought VC, I took my player straight to the park and use to smack vc heads lol being a brown shirt gives you super powers and dont let me get started on the 2k shoes. 2k16 was the best though. Shot meter, animations, defensive mechanics was fluid.
I can't afford to do multiple builds anymore. I do 3, 1 when it comes out 1 after some trades and 1 after the deadline. This year I might do 2 at most because I know it's gonna count more.
I finally quit. Been playing this for at least 8 years. I can’t afford to spend money. Getting to 99.. forget it. What a stupid grind. 5000vc for one point in career mode.
