NYC Ballet's Teresa Reichlen on George Balanchine's PRODIGAL SON: Anatomy of a Dance 

My god, the role of the Siren looks beyond daunting, and kudos to anyone who tackles it. Ms. Reichlen does it splendidly, and the commentary really makes you appreciate her efforts.

I love early Balanchin and Prodigal Son in particuar. This ballet looks ultra modern even now. Truly a masterpiece.

Wow! Those videos with the commenting on the dancing, choreography and history are amazing! You get an insight into the mind of what Teresa Reichlen was expressing, the challenges and her overall thoughts. Would be great to hear Daniel's thoughts on this one as well. I saw this performance last week and it was amazing!

I cannot help wonder how many pantomines i have missed or not understood in ballet.

The male dancer must have a lot of strength to carry the female dancer on his neck then her on his knees.

Wasn't this the ballet where Balanchine and the score's composer, Sergei Prokofiev, had some serious ... let's call it “differences of opinion” to the point that Prokofiev refused to pay Balanchine for the choreography?
