Also Dumbo used to have way more street art before the park was built. Alot of the street art was destroyed during construction of Brooklyn Bridge Park.

@@SarahFunky really good video I like this one the most, with gentrification being a hot button topic and never hearing about Dumbo until Jay Z mentioned it (Story of OJ) this is the first video I seen about Dumbo that is straight forward and isn't political, Dumbo along with those jet skis you did a video with going around Liberty Island are the places to see in the NYC

The tracks in Dumbo, there used to be alot of them down there. Gentrification cancer recently had most of them tarred. There used to be alot of them by the Manhattan Bridge and they got tarred.

My fiancé and I used your videos to get through our trips last week in NYC! I will say though, we accidentally stumbled upon the river cafe and our sweaty selves were not prepared for its luxury. I'd recommend not dressing in jeans and a tshirt as it is a more upscale brunch spot. Absolutely loved it though and the view!!

Sarah you get to eat out at all the restaurants. How about trying everything on the menu. In Chicago the tortoise club restaurant have some great food.
I spent the day at DUMBO yesterday! Tried to do the kayaking but got to the line at 5:19 pm (it’s from 5:30 pm-6:45 pm on Thursdays) but they had reached their cut off point :(. Great video btw.

I’m actually from Long Island New York, and I’ve been to Brooklyn so many times....but I have never been to DUMBO before. Knowing that part of Gossip Girl was filmed there is honestly so amazing. I think my top favorite places to visit in the city are Brooklyn, Central Park, and Greenwich Village.
Sarah Funk I definitely will. Could you also do a video about Greenwich Village? I’ve only been up there once, but I didn’t know much about it in general, in order to enjoy it. Plus I’m actually thinking about possibly moving to Greenwich Village in a few years. All I know about it, is that it has a deep history with the LGBTQ community, and Washington Square Park is located in there.

Hey @SarahFunky : First of all I would really love to Thank You Very Much from the bottom of my heart for having helped my fiancée and I through your video contents about NYC. We followed some of your recommendations while we toured Lower and Midtown Manhattan. Just by accident we ended up touring the DUMBO area of Brooklyn after we crossed the bridge. We saw The River Cafe open that night but it doesn’t seem to offer breakfast anymore. According to Google, they open from 5PM-10:30PM. What do you think could be going on? Thanks for posting. I've not been to DUMBO but now I'm looking forward to going. Very interesting to see those old industrial areas being developed. Long Island City is another example. I was surprised at the growth there.
