Hi, you mentioned that the race gets tougher after the 59th street bridge. What Mile mark is that? Like how far into the marathon is 59th street bridge? I’m getting super nervous! 🙈🙈🙈🙈
Don’t get nervous! You’ve put in the work. It supposed be fun! The bridge is Mile 16. The few miles after that will keep you going with the energy from 1st Ave! The bridge can just zap your energy. Pace conservative until you get past it.
The closest thing to it. I was explaining the tangents. If you’re lucky enough to be an elite where you can actually see the blue line because there are less people, I commend you.
First time runner. Told myself something similar, "I am going to retire from running, heck I might even retire from walking after this marathon". LOL Thanks for the tips!!!!!! its gonna be a blast.
Wonderful advice! My first marathon will be NY this year and suuuper nervous! May have overestimated my finish time and got placed in a wave with faster pace. Is it possible to change what wave you start in?
Thank you! I needed to hear this. Been hard on myself this past year. I’ve been battling sickness, injury and a slow recovery. My A game unfortunately will be just to cross that finish line! It wont be pretty but I’m determined to get that medal, 👍
