Some of the asylum seeker families that were bused to the migrant facility at Floyd Bennett Field in Brooklyn refused to stay there, and instead -- got right back on the bus. New York City Councilwoman Joann Ariola joined Good Day New York with more on the migrant crisis.

I am an American citizen, nearly half of my check is gone before I even get to see it. I am sorry that these people are struggling. I struggle too. I am shocked that I have to work so hard to make ends meet and have a little bit of room to enjoy my family and friends. I am shocked that someone comes here without putting anything into it, and has the audacity to be choosy about something that they aren't paying for. There is no justification for it. NONE!!

The worst part is that the vast majority of these people are not refugees or asylees. Under the INA, the immigration law of the US, does not cover poverty, gang violence, or lack of opportunities, they should have been denied entry solely on the basis that they did not request asylum in every country they crossed, this is selective migration not asylum seeking

There are numerous sanctuary cities, counties, towns and states on the sanctuary cities list and map. But Abbott keeps sending them to the same cities. Oregon state has about 30 sanctuary counties, Washington has at least 20 sanctuary counties. Councilwoman Ariola is right about one thing, Governor Hochul trying to contain this to NYC when NY collectively has eight sanctuary counties besides NYC.

My thought exactly.....I hope the Mayor would get this info and he would become a hero if he said, I know people who would like this..I want to commend the Mayor, this is a beautifully done facility in such a short time. I would like to suggest that this been turned into a homeless shelter for Americans and add a facility that would have clothes and mentoring that would help people get on their feet. Reserved for those people who show they are ready to move on and not drug addicted. Veterans first. This would be amazing. Set up something like the small house project, with rules etc. love your thoughts on child care which could be run by someone from whose family is there.

They need to be returned, my family came here as refugees 51 years and 2 months ago. America is a land where you have to struggle from scratch. From the bottom up, make do with what you got, dream big and know in your heart you are right for this land. America owes nothing to you, NOTHING, you have to work for it fail, get up on your feet work even harder, educate your kids to live like human beings and struggle to the end. The only thing America can offer you for free is a God given right to struggle.

Im fuking homeless in poughkeepsie new york and we live in a jail that is not fit for us. But we have no choice is this or nothing. They should not be so ungrateful that place looks 100 percent better than this condemn jail.

This is temporary for them I spoke to one and told me they are getting 2500 a month free hotel she a cleaning job making 2-300 a day she sends all that home and when she’s makes about fifty thousand is going home this is nothing new for nyc it’s just magnified she said she spends nearly nothing and every penny goes home let that sink in great for economy yeah okay
