So, since you can't hand-off your unused parking time to someone else, if you pay for an hour, but only use 15 minutes, the city will be making out like a bandit on tickets with time remaining on them because they can now charge the next person for parking on your time. Some people would call that "Double-dipping," or does the city plan to reimburse people for the time not used?

Where is the money coming from to install all of these?

$10 per hour and don't forget $15 to $30 to enter Manhattan after you paid Tolls 😂😅😂 NYC offers absolutely nothing to humans

i wonder what happens when people start smashing the screens to the point that no one is able to use these meters. and yes lets face it this is nyc. everyone knows that at some point people will start to smash the screens or do something else to make sure these things are not able to work. then how will people be able to pay the parking meter. and if no paper is being printed how will the cops know if someone paid or not. cause what happens if someone did paid and the computer didn't register the payment and made it look like someone didn't paid.

$2 one hour and $5 two hours? Who ruled that? If you pay trough NYapp you must paid an extra charge instead of be cheaper! High Robbery Legal

What a waste of taxpayers money. Buy and install all these meters just to get rid of them after a few years of use.

In Malaysia, we use parking apps to pay for parking.

You go to other countries and they usually have something in their language and English. But you come to NYC and it's expected to have things in 100 languages? lol

Big brother can track you easier now. Old machine, put in quarters, place ticket on dashboard. Anonymously.

Ive alway said it's DISGRACEFUL HOW CITIZENS PAY TO HAVE THE STREETS MADE AND MAINTAINED, PAY TO HAVE THE SIDEWALKS BUILT AND MAINTAINED, THEN PAY FOR PARKING AGENTS( I PREFER METER MUTTS OR RATS) SALARIES, UNIFORMS AND BENEFITS SI THEY CAN TICKET THOSE SAME CITIZENS FOR PARKING IN THE STREETS THAT THEY "OWN!!!" THIEVERY!!!!

city use tax payer money to purchase equipment that makes it easier to collect additional money/taxes from the drivers that park their cars on public city streets, feels like freedom to me

Another way for them to make sure people pay. first it was no more sharing time by putting quarters in the meter, now they realize people share the piece of paper and they can't have that. NY is the biggest tax city ever. what a joke.

NYC sure knows how to waste tax payers dollars. Ppl could simply pay on their phones with park & pay or they could’ve integrated the systems & used Omni pay like the subway.

LOL we got speed readers with solar panels powering them on a street that leads to the highway. They never work on rainy weeks. Free parking then???

It’s a great idea, but the parking fees should be lowered since they’re going to save a ton on paperwork and personnel.

We've had these in the UK for years. Beware if you accidentally put in just one letter or number incorrectly. The letter O instead of a zero for example. You'll get a fine! It's £100 here but can be appealed for a first offence.

Parking kiosk in foreign languages… anyone who cannot read English should be driving in this country.

Just a waste if resources and space. If you don’t know the rules of the road you shouldn’t drive. A no parking sign is good enough

If you have any outstanding tickets.....dont expect to find your car or truck when you get back. Thats another way to track you. City will really make money on fines or auctions. Please family....do the best you can and pay your tickets when you get them. Peace and love.

I'm so happy that NYC is handing us this new digital jar of vaseline! Every time I have to go to work in Times Square in the evenings and I don't have to Worry about the little paper parking receipt flying out when there's a sudden gust of wind I'll be so super happy at their newfound efficiency as I fork over my $35! Replaced again? 15 yes ago we took out coin machines, replaced w 2 machines per block. This is the biggest issue? This and installing bikes? And charging fees for cars to go into Manhattan. Should we just stay home.

With the high taxes that NYC charges from regular workers insane taxes I can’t believe that New York looks that old without updating the train system , parking system .
