Reminds me of the old Meat Show that was such a pleasure to watch! I still remember Angie's meat pie episode! "Chicken is a delicious vegetable!" Loved it! The platonic ideal!

Uuuuuum, there is a little place here in Vancouver, BC called Upstairs at Campagnolo that has been serving a 45 day dry aged hamburger for YEARS! Its simpler though, 4 ounce smashed on onions pattie(you can get a double) on a house made bun with house made pickles, special sauce, iceberg, tomato(seasoned) and american cheese, come check it out dude.

Le Chandler I can’t agree with that because when I go to Alinea or Mugaritz I am getting an exceptional meal for a price comparatively cheaper than the Beatrice Inn. Those high prices don’t really reflect the quality, I just hope it is going towards paying the staff a fair wage.

I've had this burger and it was life-affirming. At first I was taken aback by the $38 price, but that quickly dissipated at first bite. I've enjoyed the burgers at Emily, Minetta Tavern, JG Melon, Joe Junior, Peter Luger, Raoul's, Shake Shack, 5 Napkin, and the Knickerbocker. I also love the Blue Cheese Burger at Jackson Hole. My previous favorite burger was at The Spotted Pig, which closed a couple of years ago. But the Beatrice burger is an experience...so far above any other burger in NYC.

"... 45 day ageing process..." for an 8oz burger? OK how much? shame the vid doesn't say. I would try it once so as not to die stupid but.... come on, guys. That's like coffee gentrification at Starbucks. Do you really need a 6 dollar cup of coffee? or a 40 dollar burger? Turning popular foodstuffs into luxury items is annoying and undemocratic. What's next? super aged laughing cow cheese?
@saint7626
@saint7626 4 года назад
A byproduct of dry aging beef is scraps trimmed from the outside. Rather than throwing these away, dry aged burgers are a good way to avoid waste. That aside, $40 isn't at all a bad deal for a 1/2lb 45 day dry aged burger.
@Quicksilver714
@Quicksilver714 4 года назад
I can't believe someone is using words like "undemocratic" to describe friggin' burgers and coffee. It's a free country. What's "undemocratic" is telling people what they can and can't eat or drink, and how much businesses can or can't charge for the food and drink they prepare for others. If you think $38 is too much for a fancy burger, and $6 is too much for a cup of coffee, stick to paying a couple of bucks for a McD's burger and drinking coffee that costs $6 per two pound can. No one is forcing you to go to those places that sell fancy products at higher prices. I don't mind paying a steep price for good food, but like you I don't see the point in paying $6 for a cup of coffee - so I simply choose not to get my morning coffee at Starbuck's - I make it at home from my own $6 two pound can. But I'm not calling for Starbuck's to be shut down or to sell their coffee at a lower price in some misguided attempt to "save the democracy". As long as enough people are willing to pay $6 for a cup of coffee there, Starbuck's will continue to charge that for it. The burgers and steaks I flame broil at home are very high quality and not cheap though. And I'm not averse to occasionally paying an unusually high price for very good food that someone else cooks for me and serves me in a nice restaurant.
