The Culver Line’s platforms at this station originally belonged to the Brighton Line’s local tracks before the former was extended to Coney Island. This is why the local and express tracks merge into each other after Ocean Pkwy on the latter line. What is now both sets of tracks fused together was therefore formerly just the express tracks. It is also why all B trains short-turn at Brighton Beach because it would have to merge with the Q and that would be too many trains for the turning capacity at Coney Island. Finally, Brighton Beach acts as the terminus because Ocean Pkwy has no crossovers.
There’s something so haunting and interesting seeing trains moving along tracks . Even the popping sounds from steel wheels rolling over sections of rail way.
2:20/Thanks for that glimpse of the 60's era Transit Authority signage on the facade of the Coney Island train yard building! Always loved that logo. If you get a chance, check out the subway scene in JOKER. Some of the subway cars were retro fitted with Gotham Transit Authority decals mimicking the old TA decals!🇵🇷🇺🇸😎
I am starting to miss the r46s on the f line. Sometimes when one shows up at the station, I think that it’s just for me. Matter of fact, a couple of weeks ago, I took an r46 into downtown Brooklyn, and another r46 took me back to Coney Island.
Back in 2011 when my mom used to work in the airport she used ride the R46 on the F she said that she didn't like the F line because it always gets delayed but at least R211 is here to solve the problem I know that some of you hated it but that's ok because it's only your opinion I remember the Q line used to be very crowded all the time during AM Rush hour so yeah I still love the R160s they sure are a beauty it would be great for the Q line to receive them and maybe the E and F including the R

4:22 I remember in the 1980’s walking over the surf ave bridge getting up to the platform and the manhattan bound F train rumbling in. You have to be on the platform to understand
So you're so far Jamaica yard, Coney Island yard, and pitkin or 207 yd will receive R211s It's okay if I'm right or wrong I'm just guessing though because I don't want to hurt anybody's feelings here
