honestly when you drive like that you do so with the expectation that the other drivers don't freak out and are attentive to the sound of the engines coming up and where you are. If they decide to still continue on with a merge, the drivers will likely evade them but still it is rare. Most just freeze and allow the drivers to do what they will. Now... If you doing this in a tesla or some electric vehicle that makes no sound... You are a menace to society and will kill people.
@@nikolairose2739 There will always be that one driver who will not be very attentive of their surroundings or may not hear the sound of upcoming engine of a said fast car because of how loud their music was while driving and may accidentally merge to the car that is driving fast. It's better for these types of drivers to go in a track and drive as fast as they could and decrease the risk of endangering other people's lives in my opinion.
The worse part about this, is that the people have computers to tell how fast you were going when the accident take place. Even if you werent at fault, youd still be in the wrong.

As a car enthusiast who loves spirited driving as much as the next guy… This is incredibly reckless and borderline criminal. Doesn’t matter how good of a driver you are, all it takes is one tiny miscalculation or an unsuspecting driver looking to move to a slower lane while this person is doing triple digits in the right lane to bring multiple lives to an end. Not cool at all… Take it to the track, takes much more “skill” to do this on a circuit with REAL traffic.

Yeah this is the dumbest thing I keep seeing on YT. Race on a track but not on a road where many drive with their families. You might think well that doesn’t happen to me but I can assure you it doesn’t take that much to kill someone in traffic.
Dutch Von Van would probably take a lorry or a bus at that speed to kill someone. If anything happens, it would be expensive and would possibly concuss a couple people but wouldn’t even break bones tbh. Any head on impact would be minimal, since brakes are thankfully a thing and any side impact would be quickly corrected or at the worst, cause a couple soft crashes. Not a risk I’d be willing to take though, it could always end badly even if very unlikely.
All it takes is another driver on the road to not check their mirrors before changing lanes and theres fatalities everywhere. I get that they are skilled drivers and comfortable but they are literally putting their own lives in other peoples hands. Not only are they trusting their own ability to drive flawlessly but they are also trusting that no other driver on the road will make a mistake. Insanity.
I was dead on the highway for this race! I watched it fly right pass me and they even got off the same exit on linden as me. This video is probably more crazy to me than to anybody els rn🤯

it doesn’t matter about speed. this “racing” is called cat & mouse. it’s just about maintaining speed not passing or trying to lose your opponents by your hp gain/loss, you’re trying to lose your opponents by your choices in where you are going lane by lane. closer cuts = smaller gaps = no space for opponent. if they don’t get through, they lose. simple as that. then* rerun till you exit. but that’s not without a doubt many people actively go out just to do this which is stupid. most people do this with strangers just going from point A to point B.

you should all seriously have your licenses taken away and cars impounded. I’m all for having fun in cars but lane splitting in busy traffic is one of the dumbest things I’ve ever seen. One wrong move and you’ve killed a family just trying to get to their next destination. Be more considerate

It’s a game called cat and mouse a lot of car enthusiasts like to play it’s a challenge to their technical driving skills while trying to keep up. The object is for the mouse, aka the lead car to try and lose the chaser, aka the cat. It is 100% dangerous, but still fun and the adrenaline rush is killer. But it is not for the average or mediocre driver

I use to do this on the belt parkway back in the late 80s and all through the 90s and with BMWs this is an old time tradition and yeah I know it's crazy and you shouldn't do it. Just think of the innocent peoples lives you can ruin in a instant and yeah I should of thought about it and thank God I never ever scratched my car. Hwy 2 certainly knew who I was.
