In fairness, Day Lewis even laughs about the fact that he doesn't want or need to speak about his films. He feels all that stuff is guff. What he does isn't that important. It's only a movie at the end of the day and although the people involved work very hard to make it, like all great art, movies are useless.
@davidlean1060
@davidlean1060 3 года назад
@@garbohydrates193 He may not, no. Just because he learns the role and excels in it, it does not follow that he understands the director's full intentions. Phoenix has been in two Anderson movies now, but do you think he knows why Anderson had his strange obsession with Exodus? Does he understand why Anderson references Kubrick in the way he does? Whoever posted that comment is not calling Phoenix and idiot, but he he is saying he will not know as much about the film as the guy who made it.

Hey she's on edge, she's been made into a Hollywood actress which has a major effect of her sense of not being enough and therefore she overcompensate. And aside from that it's egocentric/Luciferian/ low morale environment. So she's dealing with a lot, they all are. A lot of rumor of child sacrifice and blood ritual and orgies and casting couches. Amazing book, amazing movie & cast. Pynchon conspiracy theory: Mickey Wolfmann bad guy likely based on Roland Arnall real estate grifter in 1970’s Orange County & nationally in the 2000’s. Arnall was Bush’s biggest contributor, sponsored the Texas Rangers & wound up as Bush’s Amb. to Luxembourg with $3 billion from selling fraud based loans to Lehman Bros. He supposedly “died” in 2008 just before Lehman & banks failed as told in the book “Monster” (as in Wolfmann). And like, who cares already? Pynchon cared. Joaquin?? He did great as Doc. Messed up the Academy Awards & glad he kept quiet here.

These things are terrible. Its getting tedious hearing actors talk about their roles and the films they are in; they all sound the same. I really only want to hear PTA talk or maybe Martin Short. Maya's not bad. Joaquin should just stay home--he's not cut out for this type of shit. Ya know...give the mic to someone that isn't a complete moron, phony, hollywood type! Everybody else is just a pretty face, over rated or a product of nepotism (Waterston). And I wish Owen Wilson would PLEASE change that silly "teenager" hair style; he looks ridiculous! P.S. Why does the emcee remind me of an annoying, know-it-all, video store clerk, misfit?

Michael Per Joaquin: That was my point, exactly. I respect him for it, too! I know it's impossible, but the studios shouldn't make him do these press things. He's not doing the picture or them any favors! I absolutly believe Waterston benifits from some level of nepotism. Nepotism is a real life, breathing thing.You don't think casting agents and producers know that she's Sam's daughter? You don't think she gets to the head of the line and is awarded special consideration because of this? Her being a famous actors daughter doesn't color said casting agnt/prod. perceptions and attitudes towards her? Come ONNN, Michael!! Get yo head out jazz! Do I expect P.T. Anderson or the other people who hired her to admit to this? Hell no. Its a largely unspoken thing. The respect that Sam Waterston has earned with hard work and acting through the years automatically rubs off to some degree on his progeny. It doesn't hurt that she is very attractive and is willing to do nudity.
