NYO2 Tours the Dominican Republic 

In July 2023, NYO2 traveled to the Dominican Republic, embarking on its first-ever international tour. The ensemble performed concerts, presented by Fundación Sinfonía, at the Teatro Nacional Eduardo Brito in Santo Domingo and Gran Teatro del Cibao in Santiago, engaging in cultural exchange and side-by-side events with local young musicians along the way. In 2023, Carnegie Hall celebrates 10 years since the establishment of its national youth ensembles-the National Youth Orchestra of the United States of America (NYO-USA), NYO2, and NYO Jazz-which invite outstanding teen instrumentalists from across America to come together for free intensive training and performances with the world’s finest artists at Carnegie Hall and around the globe. As national ensembles, these programs include a broad range of musicians that reflect the exceptional talent and diversity of the United States. These teens serve as dynamic music ambassadors for their country as they travel the world, taking part in youth exchange and cultural diplomacy activities.
