Traffic agents used to be dressed in brown so that armed suspects won't mistake them for armed police officers. Someone got the bad idea of dressing unarmed traffic agents in similar uniforms to police officers causing a serious safety issue. The NYPD may claim that it provides omnipresence but it really stemmed from the NYPD changing to dark blue shirts and wanting to sell off the excess amount of left over light blue shirts they had in stock, corruption in the procurement process?

Since i move out of ny in 2012 i don't know what tolls are..parking tickets...street cleaning tickets...ect... I even got a ticket once in ny for something missing or broken in the car....the car was new,, the ticket was $40 but why loose a days work to fight a ticket.. bunch of thieves.

I know most people will not think this is a major thing but the system is so corrupt here they have to do everything they can to make money. You add this to the cameras they have all over, congestion pricing on the horizon and literally 2 ticket people to every block it really is becoming more stressful to live here everyday. These are the same people that made marijuana legal as to where you can’t walk down the street without smelling the smoke and inhaling cancer with my kid there with me. This is an illusion. On my street are two cars more like two years not move. Two times a week is street cleaning and the car is not moving. I didn't see any ticket

An infrared heat source from inside the vehicle will heat the air in the suction cup through the windshield (and the suction cup) dramatically reducing the vacuum - then remove. Would be neat to try, and likely better than the defroster method.

A few years ago they tried this gizmo in a parking garage in Memphis. A couple students figured out how to defeat it within 24 hours. Haven’t seen one since. Congrats NYPD, you are living up to your reputation. 😅😂

Why are ANY "boots" required? People can't register their car/truck if they don't pay tickets already? And once you hit a certain amount, they tow your car? A damaged windshield will cost the city $500 plus ADAS alignment.

You don’t have to scrape it. Turn on heat defrost for 15-20 minutes and the suction will loosen up and become easy to remove.

And once the parking ticket gets higher than a replacement windshield people are just gonna start smashing their own windshield and having Safelite come out and replace it

$185 for a PARKING VIOLATION is absolutely insane!! A red light camera ticket in Nassau County is $150. And that’s a MOVING VIOLATION. A parking ticket in Cedarhurst is usually $35. I get it, they need to enforce parking rules in an extremely congested city but $185 is too much!!

Punished for parking there by being forced to park there until you pay when you could just be on your way. Driving in the city is a nightmare. They push cars to Americans but here in New York they do everything they can to make it unpleasant. Take the subway but crime has skyrocketed down there. E bike batteries are exploding everywhere burning out people homes, the price of a monthly is comparable to just gotten an E bike or cheap moped. The bike would pay for itself fairly quickly if it dint blow up first. Accidents have risen as the people on these bikes don’t follow the traffic rules cars do but ride with the cars in traffic. Bicycles only go as far as your fit or the time you have to get where you’re going. It’s a lot to deal with in the city!

It's amazing how much effort the city will spend on anything that generates revenue. Imagine if they were as hard on crime. That's what so many people don't understand. New York City could absolutely be a beautiful and safe city if the people who ran it wanted it to be. Instead they prefer to run it like a financial vacuum. Their sole focus is on anything that can bring in more money. If they spent half of what they brought in instead of pocketing it, New York City could do a complete 180 in terms of cleanliness and crime.

Assuming someone would drive off w this thing (windows down heads out) and they the GPS notify the department, then what? New York's finest cowards aren't going to do shit since it has the risk of running into an altercation w the driver. And I know for a fact they ain't using this in the hood.
