Jeremy Peters from the NYT joins us to recap the wild debate between Kamala Harris and Donald Trump. It was a complete meltdown for Trump while Harris delivered strong messages on abortion, democracy and Trump's crowd sizes. Trump rambled, made baseless allegations and looked terrible. He had had 3 or 3 overseas trips, had a cold, and I doubt any of us could have handled a debate well after all that. He engineered that multi-country effort to get the hostages released the same day he quit the race. He gave an address at the DNC that let us know he was still mentally sharp. The press was very unfair, zeroing in on his mental fitness when Trump is a train wreck cognitively, and they say nothing.

Correction to Mr. Peters' comment on abortion: no, opinion on abortion has not been "split down the middle" for decades. It has been closer to 70% in support of abortion rights, that is, support for Roe v Wade. Not even close to an even split.

Before people ask, "What has government done for me?", they should ask, "What can I do for USA?" Vote! Have a plan. Register. Obtain proper ID. Get a mail-in ballot or identify your polling place. Find transportation. Plan to wait in line for hours. Help friends and family. If you don't vote, you don't count.

I firmly believe Ukraine is independent today because of his diplomacy with NATO. What I realized from the debate is how much VP Harris was involved. She already met the same leaders Trump met, and she was effective and not a laughing stock. I don't think she was ever booed at the UN.

I've been trying for a couple weeks now to see how accurately polling methods represent younger voters who don't answer calls from unknown numbers or automatically block them altogether, who aren't clicking links in text messages, who probably aren't clicking web links. I wonder if, as trump has been underrepresented by polling numbers in the past, maybe Harris' numbers are being underrepresented this year. Polling methods need to adapt to the changing demographic and technological landscape.

Old, lonely, confused and bored people. Phone scams are still a thing. Text scams are still a thing. A MULTI-billion dollar industry. People are still answering their phones for random numbers. But I’ve been voting since I’ve been 18 and have never been polled, nor do I know anyone who has been polled.

Trump has Phonemic Paraphasia, and Semantic Paraphasia. He sometimes says the wrong word ("The Oranges of the investigation" - instead of "The Origins...") and other times he trails off into a meaningless string of nonsense syllables - then he'll catch himself and say, "Look..." We are all very excited about the Kamala Harris campaign, the change we hoped for. Canada: Keep in mind that President Biden, at the time of the debate had been sick (2-times) with covid. He travelled across the planet - extensively; had medications to recover. The People of the U.S., (Democrats) demanded a better candidate. Biden was heroic to step away from campaigning for president - again. He is still in office, he is still our President. His time in the White House and his lifetime as a civil servant will go down in History as a true Patriot.

We expect journalists to tell us the truth. Or at least we used to…such a shame that we can’t trust the NYT (or WaPo) anymore. We used to be able to trust them to give us the facts and the only slanting was in word placement or sentence placement within a paragraph. Or is something was reported on at all. What’s sadly hilarious is that this other siding approach is in fact, extremely slanted and accomplishes the very thing that they are supposedly trying to guard against. Just tell the facts and fact check statements for both sides when they are false-don’t introduce the other side in a false equivalency.

The conversation regarding young people - their views, how they might vote, etc., made no sense to me. At the end of the day, it comes down to one of two candidates. With Kamala, young people have shot. With Trump, they're pretty much fucked.

Also a large chuck of the female have natural miscarriages (spontaneous abortion if the fetus isn’t viable). Then the uterus needs to be cleaned of placenta or the female could die of sepsis😳 Please spout you BS on your own thread 🪡 I’m serious 🧐 Many women do not know they’re having a miscarriage in the early days either. Painful Menstrual cycles can vary & lots of blood 🩸 can be released.

Still voting for Biden was not denial or even desperation by voters. It was a choice. Why would I vote for trump if I fully supported Biden and Democrats? Not acknowledging that he had a poor performance and was too old was denial. Though Trump is too old and a constant parade of performances.
