NZ Cruise - Celebrity Solstice - January 2020

We loved this cruise so much we booked again for my 50th birthday in Jan 2021, obviously that didn't happen..... we lifted and shifted to Jan 2022 - fingers and toes are crossed! Thank you! These videos are fun to look back on later... and to share with friends & family. I know I love watching similar videos when researching (or just getting excited) for a trip, often you learn more from the amateur videos I think! :) This NZ cruise was so great, we'd do it again for sure. Our next is Sydney to Hawaii in April 2023 - HOPEFULLY!

Thanks for the comment :). Oh yes! This cruise we had a few jokes while drinking "Corona" beers - with no clue what was around the corner. The day we can travel again without masks, with dancing, and being able to hug our friends is going to be truly amazing!

Thank you!!! We did our own thing in Dunedin as we have a friend who lives there. She picked us up and drove us to the lookout point, to the steep street, and then we went out for lunch before heading back to the ship. I'm actually a NZ citizen and it was so nice to see NZ from this aspect, and catch up with friends in places I'd never been to before! We are booked for Sydney-Hawaii in April 2023 - fingers crossed! We've already had 2x cruises cancelled since this NZ one.

Hi David! Yes it's awful isn't it! We were lucky with this cruise - it was 25 January 2020 so just before things went crazy. We had more holidays planned this year - Singapore in June (cancelled), Bali in August (cancelled), Mykonos in September (cancelled) - and now even our alternative trip to Queensland planned for October may end up cancelling as well if our state borders within Australia are still closed. I turn 50 in January 2021 and had a cruise booked to celebrate that, but have done a lift and shift to 2022 as I seriously doubt it'll be happening and the balance payment would have been due about now. No point forking out so many $ when we are so sure it'll end up cancelling anyway. Here's hoping things get better in 2021! (I'm staying 49 for another year) I'd like to try Azamara some day, I've heard great things about it too. We loved Celebrity! This was only our second cruise - the first was on RC Ovation of the Seas and while we had a great time, it wasn't exactly the right scene for us. Celebrity was perfect! Wishing you a fantastic next cruise - Tokyo to Vancouver would be amazing! and Solstice is a lovely ship.

@@michellestalimeros1086 Azamara is amazing! Much smaller ships, if you forget something in your cabin when you are at dinner, you're gone and back in 5 minutes. The maitre'd recognized my wife BY NAME 2 years after we had cruised with them. Virtually everything is included with your fare - drinks, wine breakfast lunch and dinner. Food is spectacular. No facilities for young children. It's everything you loved with Celebrity, and then some. Consider them in the future! And thanks for your note. I had no idea that interstate travel in Australia was also closed down. Getting from Georgia here to New York is difficult, but as I see it, who would want to go there anyway? Best from the States, stay well. (Yeah, we had to cancel Singapore this past June also...)

Thanks for the feedback / tip! This is just a fun video capture of our holiday and yes I’m a complete novice. I would LOVE to do a course. Can you recommend a good one? I’m a bit time limited... but would love to do it. In the meantime I’ll google and find some pointers :)

@@michellestalimeros1086 Also, notice the audio. In the good videos there is no background noise. A good video is work, but some people are making $1,000 per week or more, doing what they love. You will even get FREE cruises once you become known. You may become a Star. (If you do, I want a commission) LOL
