We're lucky we typically don't have to deal with cats too. Sorry to hear of your loss. No 4 legged predators have been seen on the shell banks here, but they are of course on the mainland.
Yes, we were worried the eggs would get blown from the nest. Good news as that we just banded the chick from this nest yesterday. 2 eggs were non-viable (one spent 12+ hrs out of the nest). We also banded 2 others, so fingers crossed for them.
