Hey Nice vid, Just wondering as a person that just got into softbaiting how do you soft bait? Do you need the softbait to be on the bottom then jerk it? And How do you know when the softbait hits the bottom?

Awesome to see. I have been rock fishing out there heaps but never seen any kayakers. Usually head out to muscle farms which is a big drive. How do you find the current out there?
I've been using this one for around 4 years. Lots of offshore paddles and many fish caught. cost around $750 I think but they don't make this particular model anymore as this has a live bait tank. very stable though and weighs around 21kg. It gets Abit of water over the front through swell but you get wet on any kayak regardless. Ive never owned a viking kayak so cant really give much feedback there except that they are nz made
