NZ Tahr Hunt, Rangitata Public Land - Tipi Camping, Southern Alps 

In this most recent backcountry hunt I travelled to New Zealand to chase bull tahr on public land with friends from across the ditch. Camping in a Past Outdoors Ultralight Tipi (UL6T) and also staying in Department of Conservation huts in this weeklong adventure into remote mountain terrain. River crossings, hill climbs, and more than a hundred Himalayan Tahr encountered. The journey included living off the land eating daily tahr backstraps covered in balkan seasoning, with some trusty radix MRE's and the usual alpine hiking snacks.
